Pep maybe taking him to the watering hole but he cannot make him drink.
If he wants to leave (and we don't know), then we have little choice
Pep has said a few times Sane knows what he has to do to play more. We don't know what that is but as Pep isn't picking him he can't be doing it. No one at the club will tell Pep who to pick and I'm not going to start either. If he wants to go and won't sign a contract we have little choice but to let him go this summer. We can't wait until next summer because we are at the risk of a transfer ban and won't be able to bring in a replacement.

Just listened to ‘The transfer window’ podcast with Castles on; said that no fee has been agreed. If City can’t convince him to stay then they’ll sell this summer.

Hopefully he’s just using it as a tool to get a better contract at City, really don’t fancy this guy leaving, he could be a world beater
Castles has really put his eggs in one basket there hasn’t he... “He might leave this summer, but he might not.” I don’t think they guy has any idea what will happen.

If Leroy does leave it has to be for >£100m.

Yes,pep needs to sort out whatever the problem is,letting older players go is one thing but not a kid who has everything to be the worlds best player

If he wants to go, not much pep can do. Hes also stalled and even gone backwards this year with inconsistency which cant be blamed on age - hes now 23. I'll be gutted if he does go but I've always suspected he had his head turned last year.

Disappointing if Sane goes but less disappointing now than had it been 12 months ago when he had had a great season, performances have tailed off quite a bit this season, certainly post New Year anyway. Some of his showings in recent games have been decidedly iffy. If he goes then we need to shaft Bayern, those arrogant so and so's have been quite dismissive of us as a club at times and we should do them no favours.

Yes it would be brain dead to let him go,people moan we let Sancho go but this would be 100 times more stupid
What’s brain dead about getting a huge sum of money for someone that didn’t want to sign a new deal? (which would be the case if we were to sell him). Especially when you consider the transfer ban and Bayern being so adept at convincing players to wait for free transfers? In those circumstances it seems like a no brainer to cash in.

He either signs a new deal this summer or is sold. There’s no other option really.

If he doesn't sign, and he wants bayern, he's going to have an awful lot of splinters in his arse, because they won't pay us what he's worth, and Pep won't play him.

Personally I think he'll sign.
I agree with you, they will not pay what he’s worth. But I feel City will still sell at a reduced fee, to avoid Bayern convincing him to run his contract down. Hopefully he signs a new deal instead though.

He is a new dad,it could be that,it could be anything,23 is still young and he has all the skill needed, only him and pep know what the problem is,i am certainly not believing the know nowt shit stirrer Castles tweet

I think he will too, but I don’t think we would risk keeping him if he doesn’t , we’d want his replacement in now. We wouldn't risk losing him for nothing even if we had to take a bit less now.

He won't sign if he doesn't feel it's a good enough contract for him and his young family,it's up to both sides to get it sorted

Don't think it’s money, pretty sure it’s down to how much game time he thinks he’ll get over the the next two seasons when at 24-25 he needs to be starting regularly.

He has the talent to start regularly for us.

Question is does he have the mentality?

Well no player is going to get assurances on game time, not even vinny
Didn’t really mean assurances, more whether he believes whether he has more chance with us or elsewhere. Not even taliking about ability, some players just work better in different systems with different coaches. Think he’ll stay but in the end it will be entirely up to Leroy himself.

From what I see, and looks can be deceptive without knowing with him, he doesn't seem to have the drive and self motivation to improve that Sterling has shown. Doesn’t make him a bad player or a player that can’t shine somewhere else. But for Pep not sure he’ll impress enough to force himself ahead of Raheem and Bernardo.
Remember the day after Newcastle beat us a Newcastle season ticket holder was talking to me and the first thing he said was we were warming up in front of his seat and they noticed how “ lapsidaisical” Sane looked compared to the rest of the team. Said he didn't look like he wanted to be there. I did say he always looks a bit like that but if others see it ?

That's his style,Berbatov was the same, when sane goes he turns on the after burners and is away,i don't like a languid(sp) style held against him,he celebrates as much as anyone,he cares alright
