It's not sustainable. The one exception would be a Ronaldo to Juve type transfer because of his commercial value.

Premier league young player of the year last year and has had two seasons of putting in substantial number of assists and goals. Bayern are also in need of a couple of wingers, so that’s more value added to Leroy. When you consider transfers from the early 2000’s like Zidane, Rooney, Ferdinand and also the money Barca recently forked out for Coutinho and Dembele, you can clearly see why we value Leroy at £100m+. United bought Lukaku for £75m plus add ons ffs, and Bayern the right ****s want Leroy for the same price.

If we're being charitable, they might be thinking of him as a star in the German team that is now in the process of being rebuilt.

To be fair I’m not sure this is entirely anti City - in Germany there seems to be a bizarre scenario where Bayern can just help themselves to all the best players in the league and the other teams seem to be relatively comfortable with the scenario. As soon as Bayern approach a club they seem to just hand over the player ‘as required’. No wonder it’s a an uncompetitive and totally predictable league.

Given the way we do our transfer business and the recent investment in young players with potential, then I can only assume there is something we are not seeing for us to open negotiations.

Either that, or it could be as simple as him wanting to return to Germany and not wanting to be here anymore.

If that is the case then it is the correct decision to let him leave. There is a huge team dynamic at city these days, I think anything that gets in the way of that will be shown the door.

Truth is, it’s fairly simple; if Pep wants him out, he’s gone. If Leroy himself wants to leave, then he has gone. If neither of those things are true, he stays. Let’s hope it’s the last one and, he signs a new deal and gets his head down, determined to get into the team next season. If not, and much as Munich wouldn’t be my first choice for him, it’s got to be better than him going to another English club.

We haven't opened negotiations,we put out via Mullock that we are annoyed at them gobbing off when they haven't made any contact,they are trying to bully us
