It's a shame that the game is not played the way the fans would want it to be but he is not a fan. If he were, he would be thrilled to have a new contract offered and would probably sign it the day it was put in front of him. As a professional, he has no need to rush, despite our protestations, and he knows that the longer it goes on, the more he can command. Personally, I believe there will be a point where we simply say we have had enough, that the offer has been there for long enough, and we will authorise a sale. He is a huge talent but in no way bigger than the club or the team spirit we have built.
