2. In the last year, he has become disfavored by the manager. For good reason, others have been better.

3. Based on the abive trajectory and the significant interest from other equally big clubs he doesn't see it as in his best interest to continue here.

Point 3 is so obvious, that even the thickest blue lenses shouldn't blind anyone.

4. As for what the club deserves from him. The club deserves a level of professionalism. Show up, do his job and don't be an embarrassment to the club outside. He has been all that. As for getting something back, the club doesn't "deserve" that. You get significant money back if a player wants to break his contract early or another club wants him badly after a few years.

Leaving on a free next year certainly IS a threat and part of Bayern's negotiation efforts, but goal.com is just speculating now for a story. It will be the usual summer saga...

It hurts we have such a poor hand with contract situation, ACL and CV, and player's wish obviously,
while we can only rely on Leroy not wanting another year here and pushing Bayern for a move now.

Exactly this. 2 years out is even worse when you consider he’s coming back from an ACL injury. Usually players don’t come back to top form straight away. They have another season of niggling injuries or struggle for form. See Gundogan or Mendy.

Sane staying and not playing could destroy his career, if he’s smart he’s telling Bayern pay City the fee they want or I’m going to another club or signing a new contact with City.

Sane has the most to lose of all parties involved.

Said the same. If I was Sane I would be asking a few questions about highly they value me?
FWIW I think they'll come back with a £45-50m offer. If we reject they'll come again in January (if that window happens?) with a pre-contract or a much reduced offer.
However that's a risky business with Europe's elite also sniffing around.
