Death of a Football Legend and my Dad.....

RIP. A true gentleman of football. I was moved by this story and especially seeing the picture of you all together. He looked proud to be with his boys. I cannot boast of a football career like your dad's, but like him, I am proud that my boys have grown up to be true blues.Cherish the memories.

Its in The Blood said:
My dad is the reason that all my family are City fans. He grew up around Rusholme and played football on Hough End as a lad. He then carved out a career as a Pro Football starting off at City as a lad. He went on to play in all four divisions as the leagues were in those days.
He always told my brother and myself that he didnt realise what football was all about till the end of his career.
By this time he was at Altrincham playing for the late Freddie Pye(Manager and ex City Vice Chairman) and the late Peter Swales(Alty Chairman and one time City Chairman)
If you click on the links below it will tell you a little bit about a true footballer who played the game when it was a man's game.
