You aint got a fucking case...

Why so mad? Has BB forgotten to feed you again?

l aint mad, l am laughing at your under-handedness and how sly you have resorted to being....l really thought you were better than that, nevermind, being strong, up-front and true to ones self is quite rare these days.....

It's just a bit of fun banter.

It's pointless to have grown up talkies with you, as you know.

Unfortunately the death penalty is a final act of punishment which can never be altered. Timothy John Evans was an innocent man when he went to the Gallows for crimes committed by a certain John Reginald Halliday Christie. I'm not in favour of it's return, but I am in favour of throwing the key away and making a sentence of life mean life not 10 years!

death by firing squad
all those innocent soldiers in ww1
executed for having shell shock

Why waste all that money on 'em....it could be better spent elsewhere.

Tell that to the family of Timothy Evans, imagine if that was your son or my sons. He was only 23 when convicted, hanged age 25. Both my lads now are aged 22 and 24! Least the Queen gave him a Royal pardon and allowed his body to be exhumed and buried in consecrated soil!

Yes ,there have been miscarriages of justice in the past ,but modern day methods and detection techniques mean they are less likely to happen today.

Some of the crimes committed in recent years have been so abhorrent that the ultimate sanction, forfeiture of life needs to be applied.

Not the death penalty.

I have done jury service twice now, and it is nerve wracking enough sending someone to prison for burglary, even though you are constantly told your decision should be 'beyond reasonable doubt'.

There is always a doubt, but to send someone to their death in such circumstances would be unimaginable. There have been, and there always will be, miscarriages of justice, for whatever reason. The jurers who made their decisions in those cases were relying on the evidence being placed in front of them being accurate and fair. There is no other way of looking at it.

Given the failings of the judicial system which we are all familiar with, could you, would you, want to send someone to their death.

I know how nerve wracking it can be sending someone to prison. I could not imagine the horror of sending someone to their death.

I could'nt do it, it would be too much.

But even with modern forensics, which I have no problem with at all, mistakes can still happen. For example cross contamination of the scene. But I do agree some of the crimes are abhorrent and the people who commit them should be punished. Like I've said life, should mean life, and not 10 or 15 years.
