Death

I mean, none of that is true mate haha.

The Gospels were written between 66AD and 110AD.

Scholars think Matthew could have been written less than 30 years after the crucifixion.

The Old Testament is one great yarn I agree, it’s tricky to make sense out of large parts of it but it’s interesting nonetheless.

Well the archeology is contested but they’ve got a pretty good idea where the crucifixion took place and a theory where the tomb was.

For the record there’s more evidence for Jesus of Nazareth than many historical figures of the ancient world that people don’t question existed, because well they’re not as important to life if they didn’t.

I am absolutely certain the man existed from everything I’ve seen and I spent a bit of time trying to prove otherwise to my mate, who’s a Priest.

What ever happened to that Nazareth guy, not been on here for a while.

Not just Jesus but the evidence that his apostles existed is overwhelming.
Interestingly people who are willing to die for a belief , like the apostles, will not willingly die for something they know to be a lie.
So in my opinion, the apostles all died for something they believed to be the truth. (Except John of course who died of old age in or near Ephesus.)

I just think when you're dead that's it.
Otherwise there are billions of people up there..
And what makes us special, so what about the trillions of animals and fish.

A friend of mine works in a nursing home. He was handing out cups of tea and said to one old guy "do you want a biccie with that"? The man said yes please, Kev came back with one and bang he'd gone. That would do me. Mind you I'd preferred to finish the biscuit first.

The older I get the more I'm looking forward to death as I strongly believe in life after death.
I dont believe at all. would be great though to be able to watch over my wife and kids. not going to happen but its a nice thought. its like "oh at least they are together again " bullshit. no they're not.

There’s a small chance that St Peter died after Matthew was written too and Matthew had in it that Jesus told Peter he’d have to die for him in his life by “following him”, if he wanted to continue to spread the word.

Of course we know Peter was crucified too.

As I say people can dismiss the claims if they wish but the man and the Apostles definitely existed and they thought he was the Son of God/Divine.

People believe humans have an afterlife because we’re special compared to all other organisms, but that means there are no plants in heaven otherwise we’d believe that plants and maybe bees and butterflies are special enough to have an afterlife too. But not great white sharks or T-Rexes because they’d spend eternity mauling us in heaven!

It’s either everything up there or nothing but humans. Imagine floating around a sparse giant space of waste with billions of other humans... fuck that, I’d rather go to hell, or you know, carry on rotting in the ground like we actually do.

they're still idiots though. That being said, I bet BLM would have found some tenuous reason to take Jesus down from the cross and chuck him in the river.
