Please lord no, I've already booked the flights for my daughter and me :-(Got a feeling that Chelsea will be moved to Friday night. Hope not coz I'm working.
Don't forget the unfeasibly short skirts that they sport in mid-winter too.Perfect for a night out in Liverpool after.
All them dolly birds will have been getting ready for 15 hours for you. Rollers and all.
It's just the same out here. Last Christmas I nearly saw an ankle.Don't forget the unfeasibly short skirts that they sport in mid-winter too.
That bubble’s been bursting for over twenty years apparently but it never seems to actually pop. I was down at the ground today and there were several groups being shown around the stadium. I’m guessing, from appearance, they weren’t from Beswick. And they’re the sort of fan that will happily pay massive ticket prices, so don’t expect the demand to dampen just yet. I’ve been to Colchester on a Friday, Southampton on Boxing Day and all points, times and days in between. And that’s not changing any time soon. I’ve long since stopped going to aways, bar the odd localish trip, as and when I can get a ticket and I’m resigned now to rarely, if ever having enough points to pick and choose, but I don’t think there was ever going to be a different outcome, given the investment we’ve made. Apologies, I’m rambling and seguing into a different topic. Back to marking kids’ books!I often wonder how long will it be before fans walk away.
the bubble will burst one day and the tv companies will suffer as their arrogance wont allow them to see it coming.
Won't be Sunday as we have CL v Celtic on Tuesday night.I could really do with the Chelsea game being on the Friday or the Sunday.
I've already booked the hotel for the Friday. I'm guessing either early k.o. on Sat or Friday night. Chumps league on Tuesday surely rules out Sunday ... surely!!?!I could really do with the Chelsea game being on the Friday or the Sunday.
Friday night games. i can see the point, but please, limit the travel required. Travel to the other end of the country is just not on.
Saturday lunch would be a disaster for me, as I've got a course I've got to attend in the morning.I've already booked the hotel for the Friday. I'm guessing either early k.o. on Sat or Friday night. Chumps league on Tuesday surely rules out Sunday ... surely!!?!

We can blame the TV companies all we want, but it is the Premier League (and therefore the clubs we support) that don't place any restrictions on them when it comes to selecting the games for TV.Friday night games appeal to me far more than Monday nights but I totally agree that they should be between teams within, at absolute most, a couple of hours drive away (as should Monday night games) yet so far this season there have been 3 Friday night matches - Utd v Saints, Chelsea v Liverpool, and Everton v Palace. It's a fucking piss-take and it shows that the TV companies really don't give a shit about away fans.
While I accept that there will be the odd anomaly due to the amount of matches screened live these days, I don't believe for one minute that they can't arrange for televised matches and the rest of the fixture list to be generally more convenient for the travelling supporter. For example, we have to play both West Ham and Chelsea away during a round of midweek fixtures. It's also an issue for fans of lower league teams too. At the Football Supporters Federation annual summit back in July, the new chairman of the Football League made a speech. Claimed he was fan friendly but when a Bristol City fan made the point that they have 4 or 5 midweek away matches against teams in the north west and Yoirkshire the FL chairman waffled on - to much sniggering -that this was pretty much a best case case scenario for Bristol City fans and that the fixture computer is programmed to make it as convenient as possible for away fans.

They could easily put rules in place that limit the distances between teams on Friday/Monday nights, and they could easily tell the TV companies that they have to give much more notice before changing dates. But then the TV companies would rightly pay less for the rights if such restrictions were put in place, and that's the last thing the clubs want.
So, yes, Sky, BT et al. don't give two shits about the fans, but neither do City or any of the other clubs. Money is their only interest.
No chance,Sky and bt both have games Friday and we play Celtic on the Tuesday. My money's on the Saturday 5-30 ko.I could really do with the Chelsea game being on the Friday or the Sunday.
