Decent Pub/Bar showing the game in Picadilly on Thursday?

The Waldorf is a useful Pub for Piccadilly Station.

Bull's Head even handier....right across the road from the 'new' entrance....far nicer, cleaner and WAY better beers. Always good for after a game. (Don't think they actually have tv's though, soz op)

I'm told they sell beer on the concourses at Coms. Some people with shed loads of work arrive at games a few minutes late and leave a bit early. Rumour has it there wont be a full house on Thursday so arrival and departure shouldn't be too difficult.

Give it a rest pal, he doesn't need to justify himself does he? No beer on European nights either, soz.

Waldorf's ok Mark, i think it's cold in there to be honest and pretty dear for a pint. There's "The Green" also: http://www.thegreenmanchester.com/ It's decent in there.

Thanks Tom.

You must be a far better fan than I am.

Wow this post is really constructive! Bravo you! You must be so so proud of yourself coming up with that little gem!!

I’m not going to discuss my or Marks commitment to the club as it goes without saying, and quite frankly I can’t be bothered to spend my time answering your pathetic attempt at humour .... Now go away if you haven’t got anything to actually contribute...... before you hurt yourself.

Football is the major attraction for me - although there's also now a Sports Bar inside Piccadilly Station.

I take a look at Bluemoon everyday but didn't join till today so can't start new topic and hoped that i could get some advise on this one. I've been a City fan for 41 years now and managed to get up to Maine road now and again in my youth and before the second marriage and 4 kids. Have been to Eastlands once when it first opened on a weekend trip with wife ( Beat by Arsenal ) and tomorrow i am coming up from Oxfordshire with my 8 year old boy for his first ever trip to see City play. We are staying at Ancoats and i would just like a bit of advise so i can make it a special day for him. It doesn't look too far to walk so i just wondered is it a safe walk and is there a pub i can pop into with him on the way before the game so he soak in the atmosphere. Thanks

Welcome fellow blue,
its probadly a 15/20 min walk from Ancoats and no you shouldnt have any problems.i would suggest Mary D`s which is right nr the ground for a pub with atmosphere, get there early though because there`s no beer allowed to be served in the ground ,so surrounding pubs will be busy.
Hope you both have a great day,let us know how you get on.
