What's the difference in the laws between obstruction in the box and not looking at the ball and blocking a forward

There is no offence of obstruction in the laws.

What there is now is "impeding an opponent with contact" and "impeding an opponent without contact". The first leads to a direct freekick; the second to an indirect freekick.
