West Ham value Rice at close to 100m. Phillips book value is 42m given that's what was paid for him. He has amortised since then given he is a year older, and its obvious to everyone he is surplus to requirements given how rarely Pep plays him. 50m plus Phillips values Phillips at 50m - in what world mate?

West Ham dont want anyone's unwanted players to reduce the biggest lump sum payment they will ever receive. It will need to be 90-100m all cash deal.

Fair point on Phillips Value, say £70mill plus Phillips. They are going to need a replacement. Also we need to think about younger players for the midfield

We have to acknowledge the fact that his performances will be even more excellent once he joins a top class Premiership club.

He is undoubtedly a very fine player with his skills acknowledged by virtually all Managers in the U.K. and in Europe.

And thats why Rice is going to Arsenal. Partey has played himself out of favour. Partey wings will be clipped and he will play a smaller role, necessary given his injury record and certain rumours circling on the internet, he isnt reliable anymore and if we have higher ambitions (which we do) we need to move past Partey. Rice is also a London lad whose world exists inside the M25. We have the money we didnt spend on Mudryk.

True, but Arsenal must be very tempting as he would be the main man and would be guaranteed games.

Here he may well have a very difficult first season and moving up north for a londoner is a big commitment in itself.
