Tbh I think it’s quite obvious Peps going to Joe Hart him if he’s still here pre season. Outright tell him he won’t play so should leave. Clear as day he doesn’t rate him at all.

We have no idea what Pep thinks or has told Phillips.

We can assume at least a little of what pep thinks about Philips, I would think. Last season left us a couple of clues.

Phillips valuation after this season is like 30m and lower.

West ham offered 55m for him when we were in the process of buying him .
Moyes & West ham must think very highly of him .
Regardless of him not making inroads at city he has been training & playing with quality players & will be better for it when he goes to another club .
I think his valuation will be around the 40-45m mark .

We could include Aymeric Laporte in the deal and sell Kalvin Phillips outright but the former might not be too keen for that.

The crazy season is upon us. City sit top of the table, if we want Rice, who is a very good player, we get rice imo. The new formation and the success derived from it would suggest pep might want John back in defence and a new player to go alongside rodders.

The only bump appears to be Phillips. Pep would need to be brutal with him and tell him no game time next season. We all have our reservations about Phillips but when good players come on the market you maybe have to move.

Hard on Phillips whom I had high hopes for but if it means we get rice then it will improve the team. The new system is the way forward. Stones could cover both positions and get plenty of game time. Gvardiol tho? Don’t need both.

Mini rebuild needed to keep the team hungry. Pissing off the pretenders would be an added bonus.
