Was thinking about it yesterday.

Akanji.... ..Dias.....Ake

Stones..Rodri...Rice

Foden.. Alvarez.... Grealish

......... Haaland.......

Bully ball to start the season. Ball control plus physical dominance.

Rice, Stones and Rodri is way too much of a defensive shield when we’ve already got another 3 centre backs on the pitch. With Alvarez (a striker) also in the middle, there wouldn’t be enough creativity or control in the team either.

I think maybe Pep in his search for new challenges, is going after zero conceded goals next season.

While scoring 101+ of course.

We are clearly waiting to see what Ilkay does here. I hope Declan gives us a few more days.
I don’t get this though, we either want a player or we don’t. Irrespective of Gundo signing a new deal, he’ll need replacing in 2yrs anyway so better buying someone like Rice (if that’s the clubs highlighted signing) now so he can learn our way and be in the groove as Gundo starts to play less and less. Or is the plan to panic buy the day after Gundo does decide to leave and have two seasons of “bedding in”?

Yeah, same here. I would go for Rice regardless of Gundos decision. He is versatile enough to play a few positions as well.

I certainly get it, as Gundo is one of the first names on the team sheet, we wouldn't spend 100 million for someone that would not get the game time that he deserves.
I understand this perspective as well, so as long as we are not going to potentially miss out, our management is probably right in giving it a few more days. This transfer window is about to kick-off big time this week, that's for sure :).

It is certainly going to be fascinating to see the best club in the World, strengthen even more, especially with the transfer kitty being touted in the other subjects. There was a tweet saying Gundo will make a decision this week, so I don't think we will have to wait long. I am also sure, Rice will give it as much time as he can, to have a chance to be able to link up with this squad. I recall seeing the YouTube video, when Yaya surprised him, he seemed a right fanboy then.

I like Fantasy's team more
