I think if everything about our interest in Rice is coming from the West Ham side then it’s very possible we’re not that interested but happy to let West Ham bleed arsenal dry. Why I don’t know, perhaps they’re interested in one of our lads and they need funds from Rice’s sale.

I'd agree if he was signed to be a conventional midfielder. However, I think he could shine in the hybrid role that Stones has been playing recently.

I don’t think he’d be better than Stones in that position, if we were to spend £100 mill on him it must be because Pep thinks he can play in a position we haven’t seen him play before, probably more box to box. I can’t see it myself but if Pep can then I’m all for it.
