Apparently the add ons are over 5 years which include winning the league and champions league.
Rumour has it West Ham have turned around and said do you want to extend the add ons to over 10 years.
I just cant see them winning the champions league or the prem for that matter

Monster bid from Arsenal, fair play. Let’s see how we respond!

I am assuming their bid is spread over years and years so even if we bid lower (?) but more up-front/over less years then it’ll be more preferable to West Ham.

Or just guzump the fuckers.

We’ll see now how much we really want him.

Think it’s played out exactly as we expected yesterday … our bid has pushed Arsenal to their limit and now we have a real decision to make. Are we willing to match £105m on better terms or are we walking away? Again I’m under the underlying assumption that we’re only bidding because he’s given us some assurances in the background that he’ll come if we make it happen.
As will Arsenal surely, he will have given both clubs assurances that he will join them if a fee is agreed

The fee is irrelevant, if City deem him a £150m player or £200m player then so be it, he’s worth the value we think we can get out of him in terms of future revenue, titles, prize money etc, NOT what armchair managers think he’s worth based on todays standings.
Grealish is a perfect example, £100m was crazy at the time but makes total sense now! If Pep turned Rice in to a world‘y and we did a double again or treble this coming season then it’s been money well spent.
Theres a reason those moaning don’t have multimillion pound businesses and or are not professional footballers or managers. The real reason people balk at the price is he’s not seen as a superstar signing or glitz enough, but that’s not how city do business.

I obviously don’ have all the facts but reading that pol article the other day I don’t think we handled the gundo situation very well. Offering him a reduced wage wasn’t a good look when pep was saying how important he is to us. Also allowing the situation to rumble into mid June I feel was a bit naive.

Losing Bellingham to Madrid that’s just unlucky it can happen but seemingly coming in for rice late in the day just feels almost like a panic buy.

I’m really intrigued to see where we go from here but we need to nail this cm position. I know we have just won the treble but we are likely to lose at least 2 vital players from that midfield in gundo and Bernardo. Kovacic is a decent signing but we need another. We have to keep improving otherwise teams will overhaul us.

Your problem is you are reading and then establishing loose insinuations in an Athletic article. Rather than what Pep, Khaldoon and Gundogan himself said. It has been clear for a while he wanted to leave after finishing on a high. Just like Kompany. The 'nothing is decided yet' ahead of two finals was just that, a dismissal of a distraction. The club didn't let it rumble on till June, they respectfully let Gundogan sort his next move out with the time that took. People crying 'the club should have given him what he wanted' need to realise, that that's exactly what they did. I applaud how it was handled, for a guy deserving that level of respect.
