There‘s very little evidence that our fans were celebrating back in March. We‘ve had too many occasions in the past when early hopes were subsequently dashed. If you look at my posts all season, you will see I was always clear a title win was unlikely given the relative weakness of our squad and the over dependence on key players who if injured we couldn’t cover for. You’re right to point to our lack of depth and the over dependence on key players who if missing through injury would badly impact our performances and that is why the league in reality is highly unlikely. I suspect we might have a better prospect therefore with the Europa League but even that is difficult. Our goal is top 4. Anything else is a bonus. Were we unable again to secure champions league football, the season would be seen as a failure.

1. They didn't think they were going to lose. Frankly, there' were many City fans who agreed with them for a long time.

Not having that I’m afraid , football goes in cycles , the Liverpool side of the 70’s and 80’s dominated with 7 titles in 11 seasons , United did 8 in 13 , City seven in 13 , it wasn’t talked about as being boring then , so it isn’t now , it’s boring to Arsenal fans because you have never ever dominated for a longer period than 2-3 titles in a ten year period , it’s why Arsenal will never ever be classed as a great side like us, United and Liverpool, and that’s how it is sunshine I’m afraid.

Have the arse got a fee agreed then and we have asked for time? Last I saw was west ham laughed at the flat fee and payment schedule but also the add ons included them winning the league and champions league?

Hardly. Milly has heard differently, will always depend when people get their information.

Timelines are crucial. A week ago Phillips was certain he had a shot at competing.

Maybe he still does? Maybe Rice and Phillips compete for 1 position while Rodri moves forward to fill Gundogan's role?

Plus Phillips might be half decent with his year of bedding in done.

If he only wants to go to Arsenal and they are bidding against themselves, you have to ask why the deal isn't done?

We have been waiting on Phillips. He knows we are prepared to let him leave.

Kalvin might want to stay, but it's being made clear he won't get many opportunities again next season.

Tough on the lad but ultimately the right decision. Some transfers don’t work out for a variety of reasons. Philips is still a very good player but to get into this city team you have to be exceptional at certain aspects and so far albeit in his limited performance we have just not seen it. Which is a shame as we all want our players to do well.

My feeling as well don't think Phillips wants to leave, and as you say thinks he will play more next season. We hardly saw the man at all. I don't think he will make it here whatever he might think.
