average player rates average player, in a league that contains rodri , casemiro (spits) caicedo etc , to say that rice is one of the best in the world is the same kind of reach as comparing mount to kdb.

Id love to know what metric he uses to define rice as one of if not the best holding midfielder in there, because apart from being english and the press being fanboys of him, there isnt a footballing metric which puts him in the top 5 never mind at the top.

Been contributing to this thread for over two years now, basically advocating that we should sign this player. Disappointed that it hasn't worked out that way because Rice is a top player imo, but happy to support the club's policy of walking away when the price gets too high. Can't wait to see the back of this thread now tbh.
