Defence better without Kompany

That proves statistics are not worth the paper they're written on.
Clubs' attention to detail on statistics is astounding in this day and age, and not just in football. Clubs will make decisions on the way they play, players they go and sign, and will win games and even trophies with statistics being a huge part in the decisions on the way to all of those.

It is exactly what statistics they pay attention to that is the important thing.

Something like the stats in this thread are often just coincidences or don't tell the full story. It could be that if Kompany had played in the games he missed, the goals conceded could have been exactly the same. It could be that there could be games he has played in and we won conceding more goals than the average without him, that, had he not played, we could have lost.

But statistics are hugely important and interesting if you find relevant and correct ones.

if anybody seriously believes some half wit can jot down a few figures and surmise that vinny is shite , they need to give their head a wobble ,

Yes but apparently he was nasty to Nasty and now Nasty has got a nasty injury.

The games that MDM and Lescott started together, the 2 that come to mind versus wigan and watford we went 2 goals down.

It's only statistically better because we stop defending so high up the pitch without Kompany - because we can't do it at all without the big man!

Noticeable that Vinny was absent when 8 potentially critical points were lost away from home earlier in the season, our defence is NOT better when he's missing.

Eeeeehhhhh.... No, it's not, it's much better with vinny in it. Clown journo.

Anybody see the resent Champions League games against Barca? Vinny was immense, and he's immense in almost all Big Crunch games, Chelsea in the FA Cup, Against UTD in our push for the title, yes he gets a bit carried away, and believes he can recover any situation, something that needs checking to be honest, he just needs a regular defensive partner he can rely on.
Both Vinny and MDM think they can go wandering upfield, get pulled out of position, which ends up putting each other under tremendous pressure to make crazy last minute lunges, hence the spate of reds.
We need another top notch partner for Vinny next season, then we will be getting the most number of clean sheets again....
