Defensive Midfield Targets/Options

Posted already in players not linked to, as I hadnt spotted this thread!
Leandro Paredes. He is 24, plays for Zenit and looks ready made to replace Fernandinho although it looks like Chelsea are well in for him. If that is the case I would have a go at getting Kante and playing him in his correct position.
This, one more vote for Paredes, argentinian players have done well at City, he is young and pretty sure he can learn from Dinho all those tricks

My theory is that no CB can be a Fernandinho-style-DM because CBs are most used to reacting to the game happening in front of them and can’t cope with the extra dimensions of being in the middle of the game. Same with FBs but at least they can generally add more pace/stamina than a CB is used to.

So according to this (my latest awesome enlightenment) we need to convert a CM or CAM to a DM. Just as Fernandinho I think was converted. Someone with a huge amount of energy, stamina, appropriate physical attributes, intelligence, can control the ball quickly and in very tight spaces, and has an exceptional passing ability.

Bernardo would fit the bill if he ate more greens as a kid.

Kevin DeBruyne is the man. I know he’s very good further up the pitch but the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

(That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it for a day or two)

SERI LAHOURI JUNIOR - (CDM) - (AS TANDA / IVORY COAST) - 193cm Height - age -19 years

An unknown player from IVORY COST look interesting as POGBA replica .....!

agree that kev could be an elite player at that position. depends partly on how good bernardo/foden can become.

My only concern is that even Barcelona are looking for a player for that position and chances are that we will be locked in battle with them.
Now what they will do is use their age old yactic - Tell Xavis of this world to hype the interest and brainwash the player by saying he has a chance to play with Messi blah blah
