Defrosting the car

Brass tipped ice scraper.

The brass is soft enough to not scratch the windscreen, and there is a reaction which causes the ice to melt with friction on the screen.

Comes off like soft scoop ice cream

Going out at 6:45am in my track pants and parka to start the truck 15 minutes before I go to work is something I have to daily for three months of the year.
Hopefully the doors open without ripping off the weather stripping.

I'd have thought all you Canuckians had automatic starters

-8 this morning ffs .

i have to get up early for work ,usually in the car for 3.50 am , on these cold and frosty mornings it obviously means i have to get into the car earlier to defrost, who can tell me the quickest and best way to defrost my car, i tried the ziplock bag of warm water , it clears it pretty quickly however it freezes again pretty much straight away(which was always going to happen, any good ideas will be tried and reported back, save us all a bit of time in the morning
I don't know how you're going to manage when it gets cold!!

I never use deicer, just stop the wiper blades in the vertical position and lay some cardboard across the windscreen, that way there is no ice and you'll have good vision when you drive. It may ice up a little after, but it will be nothing and the heater will soon disperse it.

The only scraping will be for the side windows.

If you know it's going to snow and you are not covering your windscreen, then at least stop your blades in the vertical position and then pull them out off the glass.

Of course, I'm not troubled by any of this, I just park it in the garage.

That said, I can see I'm going to be woken up early tomorrow morning to go and snow blow the driveway so that Her Ladyship can drive out and go to work.

The sooner spring comes the better, snow is for kids!!!
