Defrosting the car

Been using a small electric fan heater. (Also use a screen protector)
Prop it up on the back shelf pointing into the car. Power lead trapped by the boot and plugged in at the house.
Takes about ten mins to fully heat and defrost the car. No need to leave the engine running.
The car can be left locked, so no scrote can take it.

Wife’s Skoda Yeti has it.

I was right but time has moved on - got this off the net

The first heated front windscreen was designed by Ford and was called “Quickclear”. It's been on the European market since the 80s and because Ford's patent for it expired some years back, many manufacturers can now offer similar technology.

First time for a few years I've had to scrape today, normally I'll either wait til it's breaking up later in the day or just not use the car but, I was travelling down to my lads near Oxford this morning so had to sort it out.

Did the usual heater, Aircon and scrape. I spotted some de-icer last night in the shed so fired a bit of that on too as I was in a rush, trouble was there wasn't much in it and by the time I was round to the windscreen it was empty....don't like using it normally anyway , always think it'll fuck up the paintwork.

The sun visors tip early in the thread sounds a good idea. I'll try that the next time I need to sort the car out.
