Delicious irony – UEFA set to pay a record amount to City (update P8)

Not really, the Premier League income dwarfs it now. You get as much money for finishing bottom of the PL as you do for winning the Champions league. Nissin noodles etc make up the difference and more between the rags and Spurs, it won't be losing the prize money that hurts them in that scenario but losing the prestige and as we've seen with the dippers over the last 6 years, that takes a while.
Yeah it will hurt them though as four clubs are going to earning an addition 50-80m per season if they aren't in the CL. That's a lot of additional spending and strengthening.

I should imagine Leicster are creaming themselves over the prospect of these kind of figures. Not sure of their FFP Situation though. All this illustrates why we need to qualify again and prevent United doing so.

City should have performance clauses in our sponsorship agreements triggering bigger payments in respect of progression in the Champions League.

Underlines the importance of qualifying for the CL next season

It would be nice to show a record churning profit in 18 months time of £80M+ or am I being a tad optomistic Pablo ?
The pool comment about juventus presumably suggests that if England reduces to 3 spots we would earn more, providing we qualify? If Liverpool qualify next season does that reduce our money or am I reading that wrong?

We would and it will.

Olé Villarreal.

Fantastic news, this virtually pays Pogba's total transfer fee. If we pull this one right, it means we had him gratis.
Can't wait to see the rags faces when i will thank whiskey nose for off-loading him.

I know they haven't exactly been good to us but personally I think its a slightly warped mentality celebrating record financial winnings, going mental at the thought of being in Milan to watch us possibly win the Champs league trophy only to continue booing the organization that runs the competition.

Tin hat on....
You're entitled to that opinion. I'm happy to go with the vast majority of match going blues and boo it like fuck.
I hope we win it and boo it all next season as well.

Our success in the CL this season is impeccably timed to benefit from the significantly increased UEFA Prize Pool and Market Pool. How brilliant would it be to boo the UEFA anthem in the final, go on to win it and receive c€100mil from UEFA? The ultimate “2 fingers up” to the corrupt organisation and G14 clubs who tried to stop us.

Headlines:

· already guaranteed City will receive the highest amount ever by an English team

· finish runners-up and it is likely we will be the all-time highest earners (English and rest of Europe) from the Champions League.

· If we actually win it we will pick-up c€100mil – guaranteed all-time high.

English Teams
Previous highest CL revenue in best "financial" season:

€59.93M - Chelsea (2012 winners)
€53.19M – United (2011 runners-up)
€45.85M – City (2015 last 16)
€36.38M - Arsenal (2015 last 16)
€33.95M – Liverpool (2015 group stage)

This season:
€83.84M* - City (if we don’t progress past the semi-final)
€70.06M - Chelsea
€53.56M - Arsenal
€38.54M - United

If we are runners-up our total revenue will increase to €95.68M and if we win it will be €100.18M. In both these scenarios the figures for Chelsea, Arsenal and United would drop a bit.

*Based on the best estimate of English teams sharing €145M for the Market Pool element which represents c30% of the total UEFA Market Pool for 2015/2016 of €482.9 million. The Market Pool is the part of UEFA’s TV income which is distributed according to which league the team comes from and number of matches played by a team.

European Teams
By way of comparison here are the highest revenue figures for the big European sides in their respective best “financial” season:

€89.10M* – Juventus (2015 runners-up)
€61.02M - Barcelona (2015 winners)
€57.41M – Real Madrid (2014 winners)
€56.15M – PSG (2015 last 8)
€55.04M – Bayern (2013 Winners)
€54.16M – Dortmund (2013 runners-up)
€50.04M – Atletico (2014 runners-up)

*The Juventus figure is the record high. They earnt so much more than Barcelona last season because the Italian TV deal was second only to the English deal and Juventus shared the Italian market pool with only 1 other club.

Hidden away from the excitement of yesterday, UEFA finally published the official financial distribution figures for the 2015/2016 campaign.

I’ve quoted the original OP from back in April because I’m pretty pleased (smug twat) my “best estimate” figures during the last campaign have proved to very accurate. Thanks here as well to PB because at the time we shared information and views in arriving at the “best estimate” figures.

PSG in 4th too. UEFA must hate it. I'd demand that it be presented to us by Michel Platini himself on one of those giant cheques.

For those of you who haven't seen this.

A breakdown from our friends at UEFA.

Winning the CL would have netted us nearly 100mill Euros.

It must have stuck in their throats of the UEFA Exec's.

Especially Gill.(you absolute t***!)
