Demba Ba demands too big for neverton

everton /liverpool games are becoming more tribal in fairness...it changed after heysel with the exclusion of everton from the european cup. its nowhere near as bad as a manchester or glasgow derby but there is tension.

They are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They need new players to compete but they need to sell to sign if they sell they lose moyes, if they don't they cant move forward

hope you are right as I have absolutely no sympathy for this bitter nasty jealous twisted club

if they ever win a game again it will be too soon in my eyes If I could name a side to be relegated it would be Neverton every day of the week

the only time I ever want the rags to win is when they play this pile of bile

Yer losing it, whp.blue!

It always shocks me how clubs get into so much debt. They don't really spend much on the market, so I'm guessing they have a ridiculous wage bill like Liverpool's?

I remember alot of everton fans moaning about someone putting money into a club. I.e us. Now they want serious investment to move forward? However Moyes with money would be dangerous to be fair he knows how to find and mold players he is a good manager.

Mark Hughes syndrome. He's spent too long with average players, he won't know how to handle a bunch of ego's.

to be honest we never had a prob with everton until moyes made it personal. He admits himself that he cant move forward without signing new players then refuses to sell to buy even when offered way above the odds.

If we had stolen lescott off u we would understand the anger but we payed well above the odds for him

I agree, it was a fantastic deal and I'm not someone who's ever had a beef with manchester city about it. I think Moyes disliked the way it was done last minute and meant we had to dash out and grad the first defender we could, but yeah we did well out of it.

It seems to be the done thing with City to hate Everton. I personally don't have a problem with them. Peoples club in Liverpool and a Team that is consistently difficult to beat.

One thing I never understood is why the Liverpool - Everton thing is nowhere near as tribal as the Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham or Millwall - West Ham derbies. I envy that it some ways.

I'd say it's changed considerably over the past 10 or so years, there was some trouble at the last game where an Everton lad got slashed in a pub, not nice stuff really. The 'friendly derby' tag is a bit of a myth anyway, the derbies in the 80s were free for alls in terms of fighting, it mainly refers to a much older generation where a lot of people followed both Liverpool sides.

I'd also say nothing compares to the Glasgow derby(in terms of hatred), thought the East London one runs it close.

Well where's Everton's money going then?
If they receive around £50M a season from just being in the Prem and they don't buy any players, then that's an awful lot of money just on wages

Never really had a problem with them. Sure there are some that are, well... complete twats, but honestly, all those ones are only on the forums and trolling comments. any one of them i've met face to face is a decent and knowledgeable fan and more similar to us than I expected. most of them admit that they're punching above their weight financially and are worried, but they can acknowledge that selling lescott was a good thing for them, and any bitterness is channeled through the media and moyes trying to create a mentality within the club.

We should buy Cahill as a squad player just to stop him scoring against us!!

This is utter bollocks. City put a reasonable bid on the table early on - Moyes played the game and turned it down. We then increased the bid further (way over the odds) - Moyes played the game some more and turned it down. Hughes (the tool) went back and offered even more money and by this time a few weeks had passed.

I've got no problem with Moyes playing hardball; that's his prerogative. But it's disingenuous to suggest that City came in at the last minute. It was Moyes that dragged it out to get a ridiculously inflated price.
