Mostly I've got several tabs open, come in to a thread, read the replies, give my opinion then go back to what other work I'm doing.

You mean you work? I thought you were one of Ric's right hand men and he paid you a fortune so that you don't have to work. See how much the internet thingy has corrupted me?? ;-)

I work for Ric. Mainly hacking rival forums for him, starting alt accounts on here for the purposes of driving traffic to the site, collating and selling the personal information of our posters, y'know the usual type of thing.

It's a living.

People are really bad at reading tones on the internet or I'm bad at making my words sound how I intend them. I think during my entire time on Bluemoon I've lost my temper once. Mostly I've got several tabs open, come in to a thread, read the replies, give my opinion then go back to what other work I'm doing.

Well - he is our best defender this season.
So a good move in my book.
Those now on loan in Europe need to play next season in the Premier League so show if they can cut it.

Why would they? They are already playing first team football at clubs who will qualify for the Champions League and have a decent chance of winning/retaining the league title. The idea that they are going to piss about at Stoke for 6 months because we can't decide whether to shit or get off the pot with them is somewhat ludicrous and a good example of what I mean when I said earlier that fans really undervalue how good these players are or the loyalty expected from them.

5 years ago we started a program where we went out and bought some of the most promising youth players in the world. Now these players are coming of age and we're loaning 36 year old midfielders, spending £25m in January on strikers and re-signing 35 year old centre backs. They couldn't care less whether it is City they get their football at or somebody else, as long as they are successful and playing games. You would think that people would recall that no less a figure than Vincent Kompany himself turned down Manchester United and Chelsea to join us as he knew he wanted the game time before leaving.

This whole idea that a young player must be better (and by better people generally mean better rated rather than a better footballer who nobody has any chance of knowing for half of them) than a squad member that we can buy is the exact reason why Chelsea has no youth graduates as regulars since John Terry about 20 years ago.

For all of our dismissals of Chelsea after the takeover and how our owner/Chairman/board declared how we wouldn't be anything like them we sure seem to making the exact same mistakes as they did. If most of our fans had it their way we'd also sack our manager the year after winning the league again just like we used to mock Chelsea for.

Spot on mate, by the looks of it it looks like we're not gonna promote any youth players any time soon, and when we do it will be too late as the likes of denayer or Rekik will be playing for a different team that's in the champions league. Can almost guarantee we'll either sell or loan out lopes as well this summer. Missed opportunity

And of course he has you chauffeur driven in his stretch limo to the bank to pick up your salary?

PayPal actually, the thought of leaving my basement is terrifying to me even in a stretch limo

Great news, he's been excellent for us after a shaky start and seems like a really decent bloke to have around the place.

Can't see why Demichelis, Kompany, Mangala and Denayer can't be the 4 centre halves next season.

Really pleased for Martin. Well deserved. It's a real shame he's 35. He is our best defender by some distance. His football intelligence is his biggest attribute. He would make a top coach I'm sure if he wants to do this.

He's a top human being also & has helped out a friend of mine in his hour of need.

A real family man with a beautiful family. I really can't speak highly enough of him.

Remember he was bought as a reliable back up & has had to play a lot more than planned. Someone like Pepe alongside him these past 18 months and we would have conceded half the goals.

Congratulations amigo!

I am pleased that he has a new contract but at the same time I hope he doesn't prevent Denayer being part of the squad next season.

Hardly a surprise. MDM has done extremely well and it even brought him a starting place in the WC-final at Brasil last summer. Hope he is in for a coachingrole at our club at some point after his playing career.

As for getting in the way of Rekik or Denayer. First of all for a CB they are still very young. They also need to prove they can challenge a regular starting place and get as many games as ... well, MDM. And maybe they are better of another year elsewhere. Curtouis stayed at Atletico for how long? Denayer is only in his first loan season anyways.

We can't t judge this. Only the people who work with these players on a daily basis. What we hope for is not always what is best for the club. I' love to see our own youthplayers in the 1st team. But l would hate everyone moaning on here when they do and aren't ready after all. That is what can really ruin a young players career.
