I think he will see out His contract and then go to NYC before returning to Argentina.
He has been a great player for us after a very iffy start.

4 is usually pushing it to be honest. 5 is obviously overkill. Obviously Denayer is superior to Boyata, but you look at last year that even with injuries to Vinnie, Boyata got 5 games across all competitions as our 4th choice CB.

I think even if Martin leaves (which would be a shame), we should still loan Denayer out. You almost never substitute at CB, so 3 should be fine for a squad.. Humphries or one of the older CBs in the EDS could always fill in if need be (or use Sagna as you said).

If we want to challenge on all fronts then we need 4 CBs.

One injury to a CB and we would be ridiculously short especially over Christmas or when we have 2 games a week.

We don't wanna get to the stage where we are putting a drastically week side out in the FA cup so we can concentrate on the PL and CL. Especially when it can be avoided.

Great versatile player who created some mismatches going forward. Will miss him if he does leave. Hopefully we will have him till Jan.

Kompany gets about 35 games a year on average. Give 30 each to Mangala and Otamendi and that leaves 25 for Deneyar. Plenty for everyone.

Maybe the lure of going back to River Plate has changed his mind, but was told earlier in the week that he had no desire to leave as his family are settled here. Pellegrini alluded to Denayer going out on loan in his press conference today, and I can't imagine they'd let both go and leave us with three centre halves.
