Demichelis

Apparently he is coached to punch at every opportunity. The reasoning is that the percentage chance of an error is less from a wayward punch than it is if the keeper spills the ball in the penalty area.

If Pellegrini's admits to a seasoned pro like this being nervous about a game of this magnitude the he admits to not being able to man manage one little bit I'm sad to say.

He knew he wasn't right yet he still went with him and worse still, he allowed him to self destruct out on the pitch for nearly 60 mins.

It's not getting beat yesterday that bothers me, it's the shambles that was MdM.

Negligent management.
Did Pelle really say that he was nervous??? How could he be nervous ?? Well now he should be honest and say he is just not up to it anymore.

He was fantastic in his 1st 2 seasons but he's way passed it now. Should have got rid start of the season and have Denayer in the squad.
Seem to recall he got a lot of stick on this forum during the first part of season he arrived. To be fair he steadied the ship and put in some good performances. But it has been going downhill for the lad for the last 12 months at least. Should not start again and if he has to begin a match the manager MUST set up to the defence so as to take his presence into account.

Not like you to argue Oakie.....-)
Oi behave. ;) I get pissed off with fans who pick an easy target like Demi when things go wrong and no I am not defending him as the guy was pure dog shit yesterday. However there are certain players who you can`t criticise without getting into a war.Sergio,Davis S. and Joe Hart spring to mind.I love the three players but they have also put in some poor performances of late.
MP is to blame without a shadow of doubt for constantly choosing him ahead of others.I would have preferred to have seen Sagna at centre back with Zab in at right back, but for some unknown reason (perhaps stubbornness from MP as others have said) the guy still gets the nod.
Ah well wont be long now before we have a clear out,but I feel Pep has a bigger job than he thinks.

i thought the stick he got when he 1st came was unfair.

Agreed. Kompany sometimes fits into the same category on 'Thou shalt not criticise' . I wonder if he gets into the dressing room when not playing? If not he should. If he does he should put some fire and fear into his team mates.

Sorry I gave the game away yesterday about your Bentley, champers and your Cheshire Set Lifestyle;-)

Hung out to dry by Pellegrini yesterday.

He has been with the club for three years - he isn't suddenly going to acquire an extra 5 yards of pace.
All United had to threaten us with yesterday was pace. That was literally it - they had nothing else.

Demichelis isn't capable of dealing with that kind of pace without some extra protection in front of him.
50,000 people knew that, van gaal knew that, and even Martin Demichelis will have known that.

I don't think you can blame Demichelis as such - he is what he is. You blame the man who put him in that position.

This appears to be the season when age has caught up with him.

It happened to Gerrard for the last 18 months at Liverpool, and they held on to him too long. Rio Ferdinand had the same. Gary Neville got out when he got shown up, and got out immediately.

I doubt it was clear in August, as he'd just been in the Argentina squad for the Copa America (I think), and had done well at the end of last season. It's very difficult to know how easy it is to spot.

John Terry is showing that not having solid cover in front can affect a CB's form.

Totally agree. This ends today please. Time for the sack!
