Denayer and Mangala

Denayer will hardly get game time at City if Stones, VK and Ota are here. Add to that Pep might even play one of the Fernans at CB. Yes he would get game time if two of the 3 are injured and as much as that has happened, he or we can't bank on that. It would be a wasted year for everyone involved.

Wasnt Denayer named in the CL squad?...If so, I think it more likely that Mangala off, out of the two...

For Denayer not to get on against Arsenal suggests Pep doesn't rate him. Don't want to see it but it wouldn't surprise me if both went and he relied on midfielders and Kolarov to cover. We need to trim the squad somewhere and pep loves his midfielders.

We don't need to trim Denayer, as he has only just turned 21 & is a home produced player, so qualifies for every eventuality, for years to come. He might want to leave though.

Or it may mean he's happy enough with him.

Absolutley criminal to get rid of any unless we have at least 1 coming in stones ,vinny and otamendi not enogh and please don't give me tosin as he'sat least 2 yrs off

How have you come to the opinion that Tosin is 2 years off?

He's clearly not ready to start right now, but I have no idea how quickly he will progress under Pep, Pique was nowhere near ready to start when Pep bough him either, but he was 6 months later. So I'm just wondering how you came up with 2 years?

Yeah i was talking about Mangala then, should probably have specified that. I doubt it will be a case of Denayer wanting to leave, more a case of whether Pep rates him or not.(him not plaing pre-season would suggest he maybe doesn't, unless there was an unknown injury or fitness issue) he's on a lengthy contract and if Pep can see a use for him he'll stay, as like you say, he doesn't take up a spot

You may very well be right, it's all guess work. But considering our lack of options right now you'd have to lean towards him not fancying him for him not to get on the pitch against Arsenal and for Clichy,Kolarov,Tosin and Fernando to have seen more time in per-season in his position.
