Whats the story behind that game.Some rags say we did not relegate them that day.Did they get relegated that day or not.

When the game started they had a chance of staying up, by the end of the game they were relegated. Did we relegate them? Course we did.
 
I think they were going to be relegated anyway due to other results even if they won against us....... going too far back for me to be sure, still remember the goal though ;-)

actually we didnt relegate them, other results did, even if they had won they were down.

true, other results did go against them, but at the start of play they still had a chance of staying up
had the other results gone in their favour Denis's back heel would have relegated them anyway
so its a little bit chicken and egg

He has been quoted as saying that was the worst moment of his life, fucking shitbag played for us first as well.

Cant stand him at all, when ever he was used for a bit of punditry he never had a good word to say about us in the 80's/90's
 
I always love the fact that officially the game never ended, it was abandoned with 5 minutes to go and the referee awarded the win to City!!!

But yes, even had the rags won against us that day, they still would have gone down as Birmingham (I think) won too.

That's how I remember it as well. They could have done us 4 or 5 nil and they'd have still gone down.
