Derby post match thread 10/09/2016

I've watched match twice (on Sky) plus MotD &'Goals on Sunday analysis. I also took a peak at what they had to say on Sunday Supplement but haven't seen MNF comments.

The reaction on Sunday Supplement was probably the most pleasing, with some real recognition of just how impressive those first 40 minutes were. I am sure plenty of people who watched the full game, especially the red hordes, were taken by surprise, both at how good City were and how bad the rags were. Make no mistake the rags underperformed but that was not simply down to themselves, it was also a reaction to how City imposed themselves on the game - Pogba looked shellshocked.

Anyone familiar with Pep and / or who had studied our first few games under him should not have been surprised by City's performance because it was just a progression of what Pep does.

City were brilliant, be it the superb football of the first half or the dogged determination to repel all boarders as the red bandits lobbed mortar after desperate mortar into the box in the final minutes. Better players, working harder, following superior tactics. The gulf was large. However, the rags do not have to play us every week so it doesn't mean we will open a huge gap up over them or any other team. It's early days but the signs are there that Pep is bringing the hoped for revolution to English football. I am determined not to get carried away but it is impossible not to be massively excited about the immediate future of our beloved club.
And not forgetting we did it without Sergio , Kompany , Gundogan and a fully fit Sane

You are correct, they don't have to play us every week and they will have enough to be the shit in this league like they have done already. I can see a 3rd or 4th place finish unless they make some very big decisions regarding Rooney, Pogba, Rashford, Smalling etc

Anyone found him yet? ;)

Just remembered a funny bit about Saturday. We were in the little section on the left hand side of the big away quadrant, just above the tunnel where the United fans leave. So essentially just on top of them. Loads of em giving it the v's and wanker sign as they were walking up the stairs to leave and a lad walks up with the biggest smile i've ever seen, fist pumping to the City fans. If you're on here pal, I salute you.

If any of you have the chance, I urge you to read the Saturday morning papers from before the game. Daily Mail is a right hoot. 'WATCH OUT FOR ZLATAN!!!'

What happened to that little note he sent to Bravo about neededing a training kit - turned out he didn't!

They are right - his nose can royally impale you if you're not careful.
