Derby Pre Match thread

City wil blow it in Europe either way so I really don't care about Wednesday. All I ever hope for is to trounce them twice and to see City win the league. Is that too much to ask?

Nervous already and it's only Monday. A win is huge in terms of killing any momentum they have plus doing it with our injury list would make it even more impressive. Hope we remember how it felt getting dicked last year and use it to smash them

Massively concerned about our defence, every game since our 5 clean sheets has seen the opposition cut through us with ease, several times each game.

Let United do that, and there could be serious problems.

We'll need to score 4 I feel. Time for Toure to take control again.

The referee for this match is gonna be a big thing,I find myself getting obsessed this season with who we get in the middle,I think Dean was awful for us on Saturday as well, but we shall know just after 4pm,probably going to be Clattenberg or Marriner

Both teams will score.
Just hope we score more.
We are so open. Bournemouth and Newcastle both had 4/5 chances that should never have been allowed.
We need to be so much better as a unit defensively and also stop giving the ball away so easily.
Anyone think Dave may be back? He's had a nasty knock but he's not pulled a muscle so maybe after 2 weeks rest he could be a surprise starter??

Think it'll be closer than recent years. They might sneak a win due to Pellegrini's poor record against other top 4 sides (chelsea 3-0 aside) but ultimately i doubt the derby will affect the title race.

United score by boring teams to death aka controlling the game, even with Silva out, City should have no problem taking that boring control from United like Arsenal did and dicked them hard. I really do hope both the oldies start in CM with Elbows and straw heed up top.

I think the result against Sevilla will play a part in this game. A loss in Europe tends to have a negative effect on our Premier League form. Merlin and Kun are obviously massive blows but De Bruyne and Bony are capable of being just as good as those two on their day. The fact that they have to travel to Russia and back while we are playing at home should be advantageous for us. Also we are a completely different team from last season, we have a new dimension to our attack and we are much more motivated to win the league. Vinny's return is vital as we need his leadership back, he knows what this game means to the fans and is passionate about being the number one club in Manchester. Also I think we'll want revenge from last season.

true, but it seems it wouldn't take much for a couple of punts upfield, and before you know it Depay/Rooney/the new Lenny Henry are clean through one on one against Joe or the last centre half. Thats what kept happening at BMG, away from home against an inferior team and a bunch of chancers.

Really? KDB of course but Bony can be as good as Aguero on his day? wow.

Bony is obviously not as good as Aguero. What i'm saying is that Kun is only human so naturally he will have the odd bad game and if Bony can perform to the best of his ability then we can survive one game without Sergio.

On that basis I agree, hopefully the Bony from Swansea rocks up Sunday and causes them hell!
