Derby tickets going for £1300 online.....

A mate of mines brother couldn't pay the direct debit on his season ticket so his brother took over the payment and he lets any blue looking to go to the games buy it off him for the day. I've had it for most of the latter half of the season.

He said i could have the ticket for the derby and the QPR game, £50 for both. Now he has phoned me saying the cards have been cancelled because of a mix up in the direct debit payments and the seats have been sold on general sale.
The cynic in me thinks that he has seen the crazy prices the papers are saying these tickets are selling for and is trying to get em back from me.

However he seems like a genuine lad. If he brings me back the money and has the "sorry mate" look in his eye then fair enough. But if he asks for the card back then i reckon he's got another buyer lined up. Needless to say i'm absolutely devestated!

I'd call his bluff - tell him you take you chance getting in and watch it on the TVs if you have to. What a load of bull he is feeding you. City would never sell seats that were allocated to season tickets

Yeah i know, But i have to give him the benefit of the doubt. Still, I'm absolutely gutted mate. There's a tiny part of me that thinks if he can get silly money for it then fair play. But i couldn't do that to somebody.

If anyone would risk buying a ticket online at that price is risking a lot more if they purchase it now as the estimated waiting time is around 3-4 working days meaning the ticket wouldn't arive till Monday.

Would anyone risk buying that ticket if they didn't have one?

You are not allowed to buy tickets on ebay anyway so if they see it and cancel the transaction after you have paid then you will lose money.

Its immoral to do it to people you know for a quick buck but there are some fat cats like one guy flying in from Singapore with a group of business associates and they paid over the top from touts. If you need the money and you are not ripping off someone who has to remortage their home or sell their children then I see no harm in it.
