Desperate for quality on the flanks

Doku & Savinho both have the ability to beat full backs most of the time especially when teams leave one on one but both of them the final ball is dreadful. The coaching team really need to work with them to improve this side of their game.

If they could just beat them once instead of trying to beat them multiple times we'd do a hell of a lot better.

How many times do they beat their defender and then turn right around and pass back?

Savinho and Doku are decent squad players for league cup games, easier home fixtures or subs when we’re 2 or 3 up, if we can ever get to the level where we can do that again!

But right now we need world class goalscoring forwards instead of them as our main starting wide midfielders.

Bernardo needs to go, he’s symptomatic of our problems; slow, physically weak, can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo when it comes to shooting.

Grealish, terrible at shooting but I’d like us to keep him as he offers more in central midfield and keeps possession well. In a better version of us he’d shine again, as I think Savinho would too.

For the first 20 mins yesterday Savinho just cut inside and either shot well wide or high, or just had a shot blocked. He was annoying Haaland, when Erling was making runs and asking for the ball and Savinho just cut inside and shot.

That said, he won Erling the penalty he missed from.

He also put one on Haalands head which he missed and cut in a number of times and created a shooting opportunity by committing players. Easy to knock him but he was a lot more impressive than the likes of Foden, Haaland etc.

Both weak and MIA in difficult moments, I have grave doubts Doku will ever change but this kid is worth giving time to, his first touch is superb and if he did toughen up, he would be a player.

The annoying thing is Doku and Savio have most of the attributes to be top wingers, but end product and decision making is poor. Remains to be seen if they’ll make it.

Why can't people stop slagging off Doku and Savinho? The reality is they only have one player in the box to aim for and he usually has three players grappling him.
Just an idea, silly I know. How about getting a couple of physical mobile midfielders who could get on the end of any crosses and offer more targets (and whilst they're at it, Help out the defence too)?

I thought Savinho was one of our better players yesterday mate, also thought Doku scared the shit out of Coleman as well. Both obviously make bad decisions at times agreed but back in the SAS days teams used to try and take us on and not just sit deep? We also had prime KDB, David Merlin Silva , prime Kyle Walker and a fit back line to add stability?

Wingers with some goal scoring ability is a must. All the best teams have wingers who can score and not only rely on their strikers. City also used to have a few ,but atm the amount of goals that come from the wings are almost nonexistent.

Savio will come good imo he has everything, just needs that first goal and the floodgates will open for him. Can't see Doku ever being more than an impact sub but he is a hell of a weapon to bring off the bench in certain situations. Neither are anywhere close to being the biggest issue with this squad.
