Devante Cole: "City don't care about English kids"

He is that good and we have made such a huge mistake out of all the clubs in world football ready to make good on our bad, Fleetwood Town won the race.
I can't make my mind up whether that is a step or a step down, not much between the clubs in league position, but a big difference in size of club, and about 15,000 in match day attendances, so I guess its another step down for him.

Its funny with Cole I remember City fans screaming we should be playing him a bit back and crying because we "never give the kids a chance". Shows his level if he could not cut it at Bradford though that's why fans aren't managers!!

Fans have been saying this about young players for as long as I've been supporting city, particularly strikers. It's because they can't see the class gulf between and EDS player and a Champions League player.

For a club like City to spend all those hundreds of millions on an academy and all those staff, and player wages, and scouting networks, and player attraction strategies, and medical teams, and education, and psychologists etc, and then not bother to try to get them into the first team is utterly ludicrous and would, of course, never happen.

Agreed. If he was good enough he'd be in there. Tbh, if we are aspiring to be one of the top 4 teams in Europe, were should really be looking to have a squad drawn from the top 80-100 players. In. The. World. Statistically the chances of one of our youth set up, even more so a local lad, being in that elite group are somewhat slim I would say.

Moneybags Fleetwood buy Bradford's top scorer and bitter City fans make out is a career disaster. Fleetwood look a better prospect long term with the amount they have invested so far.

Went to fleetwood v Coventry earlier this season. Saw a flag that said one way in and one way out. What a shithole. It was like going back in time. Clearly the owners are ambitious and rich and have a nice training ground but what a place!! No thanks.

Being a lower league footballer must be great for contributing to the inbred towns thread.

The U18's and down (and some older kids) may just prove you wrong there.
