Dianne Abbott

Apologies @Ric, it was my observation that seems to have kicked this off.

Nobody is saying they shouldn't be criticised or that there is an ulterior motive behind it. I was just highlighting the coverage or 'stick' that they get in here is disproportionate to that of their male and right leaning female colleagues. Try searching for the threads on either of those former leaders you mentioned and if they exist how much interest they gathered. Theresa May had her own thread, yet there isn't one for the current PM, who has surely done more to be discussed in his time before and after becoming PM than Theresa May ever has.

Johnson, Cummings, Gove, Hunt, Patel, Javid, Rees-Mogg, Farage, Leadsom, Raab, McVey - Surely this merry band of feckless cretins should all have their own very popular individual threads regularly appearing at the top of the forum. Instead these left leaning women so much as break wind and posters are out to condemn or mock them.

Whether the tone of some posts/posters are sexist is a different debate. The thoughts of female posters would be more valuable to that discussion.

There were threads set up for many of them, but they were deleted so the admin could continue coming in the thread and play the prejudice card against his own users.

No, I’m certainly not saying that anyone is immune from criticism, if that’s what you’re implying. I was just responding to a post pointing out the disproportionate amount of stick female, left-leaning politicians tend to get on here.
Theresa May's various threads make great reading if you fancy a bit of balance.

Ric what you are suggesting is these posters are sexist? lets not beat about the bush....in Dianne Abbotts case racist and sexist. They are politicians and many hold the view that they are shite ones nothing to do with sex or race.

I think Boris is a **** but thats ok and no questions or fingers are pointed but if I mention a woman or a black or muslim politician it musnt because I think they are shite oh no there must be another reason. There is the problem right there....its a load of bollocks mate they get called out because people think they are shite.

For the record my local MP is Laura Smith and I like her...I wish she was independent as she would get my vote.
I find it quite perverse really. Is it really supporting the push to stop examples of sexism or racism by expecting people that are female and/or not white to be treated differently than any other person?

Or is it indeed the case that by singling them out as being ‘different’ on the basis of their gender and/or ethnicity achieving the opposite of that goal. Indeed, in so doing could the posters that do the singling out not be viewed as being a bit racist/sexist themselves?

We are on a forum where there are threads on ‘acceptable targets’ such as Chris Grayling – where you will find him referred to as a useless ****, twat on many occasions. There is of course much worse said about Johnson, Corbyn – and of course the POTUSA.

What about the treatment of May on here – by both Remain and Leave supporters!! Why was there not a surge to defend her because of her gender – maybe because she is a Tory and therefore fair game on a stridently left-biased forum?

For me it is more likely about the need for some posters to try and demean other poster groups who hold a different opinion to them. We have seen for years posters from ‘one side of the debate’ seek to demean posters from the other side by association with all things ‘bad’ – this is just more of the same IMO. That need and behaviour is so institutionally established on this forum it is hardly noticed by some.

Frankly, IMO, it is just hypocrisy dressed up in virtue signalling as part of this continuous attempt to demean those that support ‘the other side’ – and it is massively one-sided no matter what is claimed.

I predict that the whataboutery police will be in touch.....

After all they view posts like this as:
and

And of course - being the guardians of standards on this forum - I am sure that they will be even-handed and be equally critical of all posters - lest they otherwise demonstrate themselves to be just hypocrites
One day you might work out that misuse of whataboutery very much depends on the context in which it is used. Until then we'll all just laugh at your pathetic attempts to demean people who use comparisons to make valid points.

Rubbish.

Oh I understand perfectly well how and why some of you criticise others using whataboutery

It is a means of deflecting - virtue signalling - and, if Ric has happened to post on the subject, ensuring that he can see you are 100% of the same view

I do not have any issue with people's use of whataboutery - it is just that I have a tendency to recognise hypocrisy and, only on occasion, feel it appropriate to call it out.

If that makes you laugh that's cool by me

More importantly ……………...

Substantiate why you introduced Tommy Robinson into the dialogue

Because unless you can substantiate that - it would seem to be fair to assume that it was just more of the usual and lazy intention to demean people with a different POV by association with some twat

I am pretty sure that is exactly what it was - can you offer any reason not to think that?

TBH I don't really care if people want to get there nickers in a twist that's up to them I don't take things too seriously.

I use Robinson because he has made many videos declaring that Abbot is a racist they were on YouTube.

It's funny when you try your best to look intelligent but make no sense at all.

If you really could recognise hypocrisy you would be calling yourself out 90% of the time.

Has he?

Genuinely wouldn't know as i dont seek out his media but funnily enough, those that cry racist every 5 mins on here seem to know the ins and outs of everything he says and produces?

That is just my observation of course.

I noticed the points based system mentioned in question time last night maybe we can have a points based system on the politicians we are allowed to discuss or maybe those who have a problem can stop implying things and man up and just say it.

Anyhow I call unfair I started a thread on numb nuts Johnson which was merged(has now appeared like Mr Bens shopkeeper for some reason) so if certain politicians have their own thread kept on board like Ms Abbott for instance then maybe those in charge shouldn’t be putting her name up in big lights as people will think they are allowed to post in them.

The wonders of bluemoon, here’s a thread on Diane Abbott please don’t post on it a lot other wise you’re a bit iffy nudge nudge wink wink. The general election thread may be your safe space. You can call out Corbyn McDonnell, johnson, JRM, Farage all you want(you know white males) and although no one will notice you won’t go directly to hell.

You could just make the politics forum a Labour only participation event. Come join us in the red echo chamber folks.

I’m confused Tommy Robinson is a twat but would he be less of one if he had a vagina?

Would he then be called Tammy?

Tammy the twat because he/she is a twat of the highest order.

He did in the past I occasionally ended up watching some of them shared by some of them (for the comedy value more than anything) shared by people who used to be on my social media account.

Get new friends!

I would reply but my Diane Abbott thread quota is done for the day, oh shit I’m in trouble as are you.

Yep i am out.

I've said she is thick and useless many times and i suppose i am guilty of repeating it when there is no need.

One last time.....she is as thick as mince and about as much use as a front line politician as a chocolate fireguard.

Please note the chocolate fireguard analogy is in no way a reference to her skin colour before someone gets offended.

I have just quickly totalled up the votes of fellow bluemooners with regards the general election, out of 280 odd people only 7 others agree with me. So me and @gordondaviesmoustache are in a minority group haha. We can say all sorts of shit(nothing new) and no one can touch us.
