Dickov Or Aguero

Dickov or Aguerro.
It's like the kiss of life v mind-blowing sex (or something).
Or hey, by the way, which one of your children do you love the most?

Somebody remarked to me a few days later, whilst I was still in the afterglow of Aguerro's goal: 'I bet, as a City fan, you never thought you'd get to experience a moment like that!' Without even thinking, I replied that it was every bit as good as, but never better, than Dickov's goal v Gillingham.
He didn't understand.
He's a Liverpool fan, you see. It's all ahead of him.

Think of them both as bookends, and the thriller with more twists and turns than Arthur Daley, in between.

Just choosing between players i choose Dickov! Only because he is a cult hero and was the player i watched as a youngster! p.s off the subject like but nobody beats the Goat!

Dickov's goal by a country mile.

Kun's goal was cause for a massive celebration. Dickov's goal was an absolute life saver and cause for a massive celebration.

Aguero easy.

Even if it took us until 2001 to get promoted to Div 1 that is where we ended up anyway, and the Dickov goal was not decisive like Aguero's was.
Too simplistic, no Dickov goal, no new stadium. If we were still at Maine Road, our competitive advantage over the other clubs Sheikh Mansour might have bought would be far smaller. Not only does a modern, and expandable stadium send a much better message for an owner seeking to attract tourists to Abu Dhabi but the land around it will allow for the kind of developments the UAE specialises in.

I'm not sure there was another use for the stadium. Dickov didn't win the game, it was more similar to Dzecko's.

PAUL DICKOV'S GOAL DID NOT SAVE MANCHESTER CITY FROM EXTINCTION

Just so that is clear.

Sergio Aguero's goal DID win us our first title in 44 years, snatching it off the rags in the 94th minute of the last game of the season.

Thanks for the big red letters, however I don't think that any one is saying that it saved us from extinction. But without Dickovs goal there's every chance we would have never been in this privileged position to sign players such as Aguero. In comparison what would the consequences have been if Aguero wouldn't have scored?

No problem. I put them as big and as red as possible to stop anyone from making that point, which has been made many times by many idiots on previous threads.

I disagree, there is not "every chance" we wouldn't have been in this position without that goal. Rather, there is a small chance we wouldn't, but a much greater chance that we would have promoted the season after. We'd have been huge favourites for the title.

The consequences of Aguero not scoring would have been not winning the league. I rather like being champions of England, it's a much better feeling than the dizzy heights of being back in the 2nd tier which was the reward for Little Dicky's goal.

There would have been no permanent stadium without City committing to using it. It would otherwise have been a temporary stadium and City would have remained at Maine Road. The contract was signed in 1999 after we won promotion and could not have been delayed for another year because then the stadium would not have been completed in time for the games. We needed promotion that year to get the stadium. We needed the stadium and the possibility of developing the surrounding area, in all probability, to get Sheikh Mansour on board. Without the goal it could not have happened. I cannot believe that goal will ever be beaten in importance.
