Did CL Group D (of death) hurt our league chances?

It may have had a tiny affect, but the fact is we lost to Southampton and Sunderland, he drew with West Ham, QPR, Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal at home.

The fuckers down the road deserve their trophy, as much as it hurts me to admit it.

Your last line is spot on, lucky at times playing 9 and 10 men but overall yes they have been far more consistent than us.

Of course there's no doubt that they have gotten results they didn't deserve and they've been helped along the way by linesmen and refs, but at the end of the day they've still been the better team.
I suppose it's less about them deserving it and more about us not deserving it.
