Did David Moyes help Hughes out of COMS?

Just watched Moyes on Goals on Sunday talk about the Lescott transfer.

It seems pretty clear now that Moyes doesnt have an issue with City but he does have an issue with Hughes.

The suggestion then is that Hughes was talking to the player directly.

He says at the end of the chat that he thinks

"if you were to ask Garry Cook and Brian Marwood they would say that the way that it went on was poor and they didnt like they way it went on as well."

Add in the issues that we had trying to convince Terry, via Hughes to join are we now looking at a Board of Directors realising that Hughes was promising more than he could deliver and also going about things in a less than honourable way?

It does seem that Hughes tenure was on shaky ground due to transfers and possibly how the football community viewed City.

we all ways knew that moyes did not like the way hughes went about things with lescott especially the mandatory phone call between managers that moyes did not get from hughes about a player supposedly.

All smoke and mirrors from Moyes, as if Marwood or Cook are going to confirm or deny that. Personally I think its a load of rubbish and laughable the way Moyes conducted himself during the Lescott saga and since. He says he has no issue with City yet when we played them at Goodison (after Hughes had left) he used his programme notes to remind everyone how ''City acted with no class during the Lescott transfer'' Yet City refused to comment, Hughes in particular until negotiations were well on. The reason there was so much publicity around that transfer was because Everton on their official website kept updating it ''Everton reject Manchester City bid for Lescott'' etc. Moyes even alludes to the fact that the Lescott affair contributed to their 6-1 loss to Arsenal saying it damaged the morale of the team (I'm paraphrasing) well I watched that game and Lescott wasn't personally at fault for any of the goals so he's talking nonsense, Villa lost 2-0 to Wigan on the opening day yet O'Neil didn't blame Gareth Barry's departure for it. They only had themselves to blame for the hype surrounding Lescott.

He's changed his tune, this is the same corrupt fuck that had an illegal gentlemens agreement with purple nose NOT to play Howard against them.
Plus he said that Hughes should have phoned him but Hughes said you don't work that way you give the names of the players you want to the powers that be then leave it to them.
Cook & Marwood ???is he saying he has had contact with them SINCE the transfer & they have told him they were unhappy with Hughes. ???
Staggering stuff..........but as long as he's not got a problem with us that's fine.........i wonder who we can take off them next.

Don't like the guy but he's built a bloody good side at Everton, one of the better managers around at the moment.

Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill are all top 4 players.

correct, maybe moyes will sell to the scum in readiness for when he takes over, hope so, i'll piss my sides.

Oh dear, is Moyes still going on about this transfer deal... yawn yawn yawn!

I'd like City or Hughes to seal his trap shut once and for all with a nice legal action. Moyes is pushing his luck a bit too far with these types of comments that are made in the public domain.

We've been there, losing our best players etc., but the bottom line is that Lescott left because he wanted to. We didn't get him on the cheap and he didn't run his contract down or anything like that! I am sure that Moyes was gutted at the time owing to their injuries, but that's life. City's pursuit of Lescott was no secret and Moyes had lots of time to make contingency plans. Maybe if Everton had been a little more pragmatic/realistic, and not bloody minded, they would have had plenty of time to sort out a replacement and have enough cash left to reinforce elsewhere in the team

You're unquestionably a good manager but time to move on, David...

Won't this guy ever STFU? He is absolutely unreal.

Also, Pienaar and Cahill are not top 4 players.

this is a quote from someone called aiden, an everton fan on bbc 606

"The boards finances are turning all fans, staff and players into greedy, boastful people. All I have to say to City fans is how come you can spend 100s and millions a season and still not score against us and concede 4?
Your board and club is frankly pathetic, there should have been an FA placement to stop a club spending that much money because Manchester City and single handedly ruining the beautiful game"

Anyone who uses the term "the beautiful game" shouldn't be allowed to watch it.

Especially if it is an Everton fan.
