Could do with a couple of Poles in the team. That would really start the jingoistic whinging.
Answer to the question NO!!!
Don't think this issue is jingoistic at all.
I couldn't believe it when my mate mentioned it at the game. Obviously, normally we have Joe but this was our first all-foreign premier league start.
We used to have lads actually from Manchester not that long ago. It doesn't bother me but it's a shame. I used to fell more of an affinity with local lads such as SWP. As others have said though, it's a national problem & the FA is a clueless old-boys network IMO.
Shame you didn't see us beat the scum at Maine road with no English players

The answer from me would be no it didn't bother me, but if in 5 years time the question was still being asked then I would be disappointed that all the investment going into our academy and youth system at the moment, hadn't produced some English talent.

Most of our English players got dropped from the England team before they were regularly left out of the City team. They didn't lose their England places because they weren't in our first team.

Back to the original question, I support Manchester City, therefore I want the players to play who will give my club the best chance of winning that game unless they are left out for tactical/ injury/ recovery reasons by the manager. I don't give too hoots what nationality they are as long as their playing for City fits in with the Club's plan and aims in the short, medium or long term.

if i thought lescott, milner, richards, rodwell etc would get a game under woy hodgson i would be bothered , The england boss appears to prefer the rag contingent clevc*nt,smallpiece , stan laurel , ray wilkins mk2 , rug head , ballbeck , are all at best average premiership players , and they wouldnt even get in a spain, brazil or argentina squad . This shows how our countires standards have fallen , no doubt england will suffer another heroic quarter final exit at the next world cup , But i will be hoping to watch aguero,,tevez, nasri, silva, dzeko, balotelli, negredo etc play for their respective countries . simply because they are great players to watch , the same applies to city , the nationality of a player doesnt concern me anymore , its the quality of the player that matters if we want to win some trophies.

Ooops! I'm a knob. Didn't realise this was an all non-English affair. But I did see it - great day!

Until I read yesterday that we had no English started I had no idea'

Nope, it doesn't really bother me. Only about 30% of the premier league players are of English origin. It only takes a few English lads to have injury, suspension or poor form problems and you'd be struggling to play a home-grown player. Admittedly this is a big headache for the FA and the England manager, however this situation has been on the cards for quite a few years now - and not a lot seems to be changing imo.

The manager should pick the best side for the game. If that doesn't include any Englishmen then yes it does concern me, because City feel a little bit less my team because of their absence, but it doesn't make the team selection wrong.

There's a little niggle at the back of my mind that makes me wonder if all things being equal Pellegrini will always opt for the Spanish speaker when picking the side though.

Since when was any football club obliged to field an all English team? Football has moved on from when Jimmy Hill was on Match of The Day. Dig out your football sticker books between 1970 and 1999 and have a check. There were Welsh, Scots and all sorts of Irish players turning out for City.

Oh yes, and apart from 1976, we won fuck all.
