Did we really get it wrong?

Even with the substitutions Pellegrini made, I still thought we went for it as best we could anyway. Unless I'm imagining that chance of Negredo's!

Probably the one thing in amongst the complaining about the bench not knowing (which if true i'll repeat again is fair enough as they should've known) which I don't understand. I don't think we stopped trying to score until the last five minutes or so of the match. Up until that point we played pretty much the same as we'd played all match. Other than straight swapping Aguero for Dzeko or for Silva instead of Negredo, I don't think that Pellegrini would've changed anything else. Bayern were simply too dangerous on the counter.

And yes, Negredo's chance. Imagine if it'd gone in and we'd finished top without the bench or players knowing. That would've been funny.

still going on?

I thought that the recent distain and criticism of Joe Hart was the skidmark of bluemoon, this has way outdone that

The bigger city have become, bluemoon has become more ruthless, less loyal and more vulture like

That's all true. It's posters trying to say its ok not to know that's ridiculous.

What the fuck are you on about?

Pull your head out of your arse and try thinking with a little wider perspective. Nobody is saying it's ok that the club/bench didn't know (if they didn't know). However right now, it's just not that big a deal. And as I keep repeating which is obviously irrelevant as your cat and wife knew, some of the Bayern players didn't know either. It happens. Look at it this way, you're cat's smarter than a lot of professional football people. That should be enough for you to not need to come crowing in this thread about how stupid those people are who didn't know.

My ire has waned considerably since yesterday and I want to move on from this.

But you're wrong here mate as this is precisely the thinking that got my back up in the first place. Witnessed it early on in the thread (which can be excused due to post-match elation) and consistently throughout.

Posters have denied there was a gaffe till they're blue (tinted) in the face or acknowledged the error but dismissed it as irrelevent because of the amazing victory.

I dont wish to sling any more insulting arrows but I really do wish that people could see the two things are not exclusive to each other.

We came back from two down at the Allianz - that is magnificent.

It was then revealed our coaching staff do not do their basic sums beforehand - a very poor show indeed.

Also seen it fobbed off as fate or typical City and pretty much every pathetic excuse under the sun.

Quite simply if posters had acknowledged it was a strange balls up but suggested we move on (as you and many others have) then this thread would have died a death many pages ago.

It's basic stuff.

So basic some Bayern players didn't know, large swathes of the media didn't know, City's bench seemingly didn't know.

Lets face it, it was anything but "basic stuff" unless you've got an unhealthy fascination with UEFA's archaic Champions League rules and regulations.

My exact point from post 1 was we bloody should have an unhealthy fascination with UEFA's archaic rules Billy!

The vast, vast majority of posters have conceded a cockup was made. Just that many don't see it as a particularly important issue in the context of the match.

You're a smart guy Ste, surely you can understand that yesterday was not going to be the day where you were going to get heaps of praise for coming on and complaining loudly about what a fuck up it was.

I'm now going to do exactly what I didn't want to do and relate this back to Mancini - but only to make a point. Last season me and one or two others were extremely unpopular because of the things we said about him. To the point where we were called all the names you've been called and so and so forth. So I can relate. However I also learned a valuable lesson about the reality of Bluemoon. It's a City forum first and foremost, and if enough Blues think a particular point of view is out of order, that view is going to get drowned out with howls of derision. For better or for worse.

Was clear to me five minutes into this particular thread that that's exactly what was going to go down. I guess it's part and parcel of the "experience" when it comes to Bluemoon. It's very easy to become entrenched and feel you need others to understand your point of view. But the sad truth is that on a subject as divisive as this the best you can do is agree to disagree.

Eloquently put as always LT. All the people I was at the game with were pretty much agreed afterwards that you can't take anything away from such a fantastic performance and comeback but the club should've been aware of what scoreline would see us win the group.

No one is arguing abt the match
A sep thread was started abt the cock up
And the op and some posters have had horrible abuse off fellow posters and certain mods.
Which was uncalled for.

I agree to agree with this ;)
