Did You Shout At Kompany Not To Shoot?

We're sat behind that goal in the Family Stand, and as he lined up to shoot I shouted "Not from there, for fuck's sa.... YESSSSSSS!". One of the most enjoyable goals I've ever seen at The Etihad.

My exact words (loud) were "No, Vinny, No!".

When they were showing the replays all the regulars around me kept shouting "No, Vinny, No!" to take the piss just as he hit it. I suspect I will get it forever more now.

Well worth it. What a moment.
 
I can't understand why some didn't want him to shoot. Their defence backed off then opened up, the ball was perfectly in his stride and Vinny was never gonna chip a cute 5 yard pass between them so why not give it a crack?
 
At the telly, I shouted,"pass it" then, within a second, jumped out of my seat:)
 
Am honestly surprised that anyone had time to think about it , saw Vinny striding forward with the ball never expecting for a second that he would have a pop ? Walker tried a similar thing in the first half and managed to reach the South stand second tier !!
 
If you watch it again on TV you will see that from the moment he intercepted that pass, and there's no dispute that he intercepted it. You could see it in his walk/swagger. From that moment there was no doubt in my mind that he was going to shoot. That's why I shouted shoot Vinnie shoot. I never thought it would be such a great goal though. Brilliant.

@Ric I bet that really you were one of those spotted on TV going up the stairs with your back to the goal!!! ;-)

Because there was no fucking way a centre half was going to score from there. It was going to end up in the stand - a total waste.
