Didsbury

seems to me to be getting more and more scrotes in didsbury every week

Very True.

Fridays and Saturdays especially, there seems to be more and more scum bags from Wythenshawe and the likes coming down and causing trouble. Don't really know why either

didsbury was a fantastic place to live in the 90s.

Especially for a Blue. You could be at Maine Road in minutes and the matchday routine was so simple - bus or taxi to ground, drink around stadium, drink after, taxi back to Didsbury and carry on drinking.

also, back in those days the pubs were full of Blues for matches, often outnumbering Reds 2 or 3 to 1 for a derby.

For a short while after all the chain bars were built it was still ace. A top fishmongers, good deli, good curry houses etc. You could go up to the MEt or the Woodstock for a slight change of scenery and bump into Shaun Ryder or Curley Watts.

Nowadays it pulls people, often scrotes, from all over the place for a night out. And lots moved there because of its cool reputation. It ain't what it was.

I bow to superior knowledge Gaudino

Newton heath is where I work and it's Miles better than people who have never been there say it is
makes you wonder though

You've got an Alderley edge type place that get's featured in cheshire life 4 miles from a place that gets featured more in shameless

housing stock wise there's not much between them

I grew up in West Didsbury in the 60s and 70s and it was a cracking place to live. Everybody knew everyone and you had proper shops along Burton road and Lapwing lane. Now the place is one big yuppie dump with over expensive bars and shops. The famous Midand pub and the Railway pub opposite each other are a sad reflection of what they used to be.

If people asked us where we were from we would say WEST didsbury not that other place a mile or so down the road ! Happy days .

Know what you mean, its nowhere near as bad as some areas, just nowhere near the place it was when I grew up and lived there/Failsworth til bout nine years ago. Its far from unique, sadly, seems to have happened to many areas. Moston for instance, never had the best of reps, but it was Wilmslow compared to the way its gone now.... A reflection on our modern society? A shame.
Mate of mine works in Didsbury, and we sometimes meet there for a few beers, (Mainly Royal Oak of Fletcher Moss) and have noticed a lot more Scrotes in the area the past twelve/eighteen months. Hope it doesn't end up like Failsworth Pole, a battleground come Fri/Sat nights.
