This Blue knows his stuff, commentates on South American footy:

Diego Novaretti is a massive defender. Pretty good. Quick, tall, decent enough with ball at feet and scores goals.
sounds like we have made some awesome business here! well done.

3 others who have seen him...

2 say he's wank.

1 says he's good.

Maybe just a squad depth signing? As in, a last resort. Swapping Lescott for someone from the Mexican league is potentially catastrophic.

Kompany and Nasty are our first choice every other central defender will be squad players
replacement for Kolo i think

I thought the greek guy was supposed to be the replacement for Kolo. We need a strong defender who can cover up for Kompany should he get injured . TBH i don't really know how this Flaco guy would turn out.

Asked my Argie mate and he said: "well he is like 1.90, he is left footed, a strong defender (well you know argentine class) he is fast sometimes he can commite lots of fouls thats the bad point"

Hopefully he is a bit of a hidden diamond and can do a good job for us.

He looks like he will be the replacement for Kolo or Lescott, and being Argentinian should not be an issue with Kun, Carlos and ZabMan in the side.

At the end of the day Kolo and Joleon are taking what 150k-200k a well out in wages both together? We can't have two backup center backs on that money.

He's excellent in the air obviously but also very adept on the deck so fits in with us wanting to play from the back. Deceptively quick and devastating from corners and free kicks. 100% every game. Close to major moves on a couple of occasion however his discipline has always prevented this happening. This has improved as we first contacted him over 12 months ago and advised this is stopping a move. Hence the improvement.

squad depth signing and probably nothing more. probably been thoroughly scouted and we're getting him on a free and his wages will be a pittance. if he plays well great if not it won't cost us much at all.

happy to have him here with our other argentinian contingent. don't discount the fact that he would be playing right next to pablo either..

IF true, at least we know he REALLY wants to join our belowed club and for me that goes a long way.

Left footer, replacement for Lescott? bit risky to get rid of both Kolo and Joleon in one window.

I bet my life its not Mancinis choice to let Lescott leave. its entirely Lescott own choice.
So like Dejong but about playing time not money.

Still don't understand how a player that a Mexican run-of-the-mill team can release on a free suddenly becomes good enough for City.

Or is it that he ran down his contract with the expectation of a major signing at the end of it?
