simone has them third in the league lost 3 times to Barcelona this season all ready why don't Madrid sack him . Fans on here would want his head with that start to a season .

Utter rubbish. In the prem league we are the Madrid or Barcelona so it's not comparable to Atletico's situation. Atletico have lost their two best players this season and don't have big money to replace them. No team should be able to compete with Madrid and Barcelona and very few ever do. Except Simeone has managed to do this.

I can't see that happening myself, obviously the fact he doesn't speak English always concerns me - I know Pochettino seemed to manage okay although I believe his English was already pretty good he just didn't want to get misinterpreted by the media.

Guardiola or Vieira seem to be the likely candidates for me if Pellegrini was to leave in the future.

LOL!

Spot on.

Plus, Real Madrid haven't beaten Atletico Madrid in 6 derbies since the Champions League final.

Agreed - for them to compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid last year was unbelievable considering the wealth they have in comparison to all the other teams in La Liga. They have yet again been up there challenging with the both of them whilst losing key players and having to replace them - which they seem to make look easy. Mandzukic and Griezmann were excellent signings!

For Simeone to take over, the club would have to get out the blueprint they have spent some years constructing, douse it with petrol and throw a match on it. He is the complete opposite of what City are trying to build stylistically. He is one of my favourite managers because of his passion and intensity, but he barely ticks any checkboxes that seem required for the City job. Now let's say they did burn the blueprint and he did take over, which I can't see happening, then his cult-like popularity could surpass even that of Mancini's because he is the sort of boss who would appeal to the Mancunian masses. BTW, Atletico score more from set-pieces than open play! There's very little beauty in that team and Simeone would love Milner. And I think he might upset many by selling Nasri and Silva in favour of pace and directness.

This is all I'm seeing. I wouldn't get the appointment of Simeone at all. It's got to be Pep. If he has made himself unavailable then barring a catastrophe I wouldn't be shocked to see us stick with Pellegrini until he's free. As long as we're challenging.

From the turmoil it's obvious the current blueprint isn't working as planned, wud it be that bad to try a new approach?

The blueprint is fluid and attractive possession-based football, a good image presented to the world, and in future youth promotion. There's nothing wrong with this on paper and last season was an example of how the first two can work, but it may need someone like Pep Guardiola to see it reach its potential as we continue to underachieve in Europe... and perhaps in the transfer market now. Simeone is a 'win at all costs' manager which would basically turn us into Chelsea mk2 on the pitch, which seems in conflict with everything we've been told by the club.
