For Simeone to take over, the club would have to get out the blueprint they have spent some years constructing, douse it with petrol and throw a match on it. He is the complete opposite of what City are trying to build stylistically. He is one of my favourite managers because of his passion and intensity, but he barely ticks any checkboxes that seem required for the City job. Now let's say they did burn the blueprint and he did take over, which I can't see happening, then his cult-like popularity could surpass even that of Mancini's because he is the sort of boss who would appeal to the Mancunian masses. BTW, Atletico score more from set-pieces than open play! There's very little beauty in that team and Simeone would love Milner. And I think he might upset many by selling Nasri and Silva in favour of pace and directness.

I think his style is better in Europe. Ours is too wide open, two passes and a quality team has a free run at 2-3 defenders. His midfield is like a wall.

Intensity and physicality can make up for quality differences. I don't see us being able to out-skill teams like Bayern and Real. A system like his is necessary IMHO until City can regularly acquire the kinds of players that Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern regularly purchase.

Me too.

It is bad enough now with the refs giving us a hard time it will be a lot worse under Simeone.

I wasn't too keen on the idea of someone at first as there's a good chance he'd take a fair chunk of the flair from our play. But the more I think of it the more I warm to the idea, and when you look at atletis results over the last couple of years, they've won big quite often when the opportunity is there so I don't think his style would be as consistently ugly as some people think it would. And let's face it, that's what we need more of at times especially in Europe.

I get the feeling the fans would love him and he would have a much bigger fear factor than pellegrini/mancini, which imo are two of the biggest traits of a manager.

No disrespect to pellegrini at all as he is a great manager and I wouldnt be unhappy to see him extend his contract, but if one of Simeone/Pep were available I just think they could take us further with regards to dominance in England/Europe.

Guardiola or Vieira seem to be the likely candidates for me if Pellegrini was to leave in the future.

I was hoping for someone whose name is a bit easier to spell.

Pep or Paddy.....FFS stony, how easy does it have to be for you ? ;.)

Forward with Pep or Paddy it is then.
