We haven't the players to play the way he wants his teams to play we'd need at least 8 new players who want to run themselves into the ground! Plus premier is totally different to the Spanish league! Pellegrini wants us to press high up and continue to do it problem is players can't be arsed, well that what it looked like against hull

Rag. Panic buy a new squad? Rag.

Just never going to happen this summer. It's just a column filling story. Even at the most basic level, why would Simeone leave a club where he's just built a team capable of challenging for the title regularly, where he is literally hero worshipped, where he is comfortable and knows the language, to come and manage at City, where he doesn't speak the lingo, doesn't have his own squad, in fact has a relatively ageing squad parts of which need rebuilding, and where the stakes are so much higher that chances are one bad season gets you the sack.

Nah, it's not happening. Not by a long stretch.

He's got more of a temper than King Bobby Manc, I'd be keeping a close eye on the Valencia boss as he plays a similar style to us.

Yes except its him and his players against the world unlike bobby where it was simply him against the world.

We'll see how that goes if they have a really bad patch. Players buy into the mentality when they see the rewards, if it goes tits up for a bit that dressing room will become poisonous.

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester City make first move for Diego Simeone | @AdrianJKajumba <a class="postlink" href="http://mirr.im/1EUX3qm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://mirr.im/1EUX3qm</a>

Manchester City approach Diego Simeone with Argentine top target if Manuel Pellegrini is sacked

The Atletico Madrid boss is City's number one candidate to take over at the Etihad if they part with Pellegrini in the summer

Manchester City have made their first move for Diego Simeone - the man they are lining up if they sack Manuel Pellegrini.

The Atletico Madrid boss is City’s top target to take over at the Etihad if they part with Pellegrini in the summer

And City have now stepped up their interest by sounding out Simeone, in a move that increases the pressure on Chilean Pellegrini.

The feedback from their enquiries - understood to be via intermediaries - was positive, with Simeone keen to manage in the Premier League.

Simeone has emerged as one of Europe’s top bosses after leading Atletico to last season’s La Liga title - breaking Barcelona and Real Madrid’s stranglehold on Spanish football - and also the Champions League final.

Argentinian Simeone enhanced his reputation once again by inspiring Atletico to a 4-0 win over their biggest rivals Real on Saturday.

And City are ready to move for the 44 year-old despite concerns among some at the club about his explosive management style.

What happens between now and the end of the season will help determine whether City’s interest in Simeone goes any further.

Pellegrini, 61, is unlikely to survive as City boss if he fails to win any silverware and is running out of options.

Only the two biggest trophies remain up for grabs for City and they face an uphill battle to land either of them.

City have already been dumped out of the FA Cup last month and Capital One Cup, which they won last year, in October, after shock home losses to Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

And they are now facing a tough task to retain the Premier League title after slipping seven points behind leaders Chelsea with 14 games to go and failing to win any of their last four matches.

That leaves the Champions League - and Pellegrini may have to win it to keep his job.

City face Barcelona in the last-16 after just reaching the knockout stages thanks to a 2-0 win at Roma in their final group game.
