But Pep has specifically said the Premier league is number one priority, he's said it many many times, including the beginning of this season. Of course he wants the CL, but he now realizes we don't get the VAR calls and you can lose over 30% of your games and still win it, you can't do that and win the Premier league. The CL is a knock out comp, anything can happen, need a bit of luck. We haven't had much luck at all for the big calls in it.
Yes, that's what I meant/
The Premier League has to be the priority every year because to win the CL is so difficult. This doesn't stop it from being the more important to win if at all possible. I am simply making the point of what is ultimately the most important to the club, the players and I would expect Pep.
You may not agree with them, but most football fans around the world think the CL is more important. So if City are to achieve the maximum fanbase/commercial exposure that the owners seek, then we have to be seen to be doing well in the competition and preferably winning it from time to time. Now you may argue that it is because we've been unlucky or that UEFA have fixed it against us but any way you look at it we have underachieved in that competition compared to where we are at as a team.

I get that bit entirely and we will sell out the knockout stages no problem. Even Pep's so called history club's have empty spaces in the less favourable ties.
Probably should have got to a final by now , or at least a couple of semis, but it took Fergie 13 years to win it. He (only) won it twice in 26 years.
Of course we are trying to win it, but sooo many factors are against you and it's a cup comp, not always the best team wins it. It's more like a superbowl, time your best games at the latetr stages and peak for the final. The league, the best teams win it, that is THE best gauge. It took Fergie 13 years to win the CL and he (only) won it twice in 26 years.
Our crowds are not bad even in the group stages.
But it's not boring watching City in the group stages they have been som great games over the years .
Its bigger than the superbowl mate.thats a shit record only 2 times in 26 years for a so called greatest. Manager ever .
