Looks to me like they have worked out that they have enough tickets for anyone with over 3000 points and everyone on the direct debit cup scheme.

Most people on the direct debit scheme will already have enough points (3000) to get a ticket. From a business point of view, great move by the club. It will result in more people signing up next year, so will increase ticket sales for all cup games. Whether we like it or not, it is a business and they need to increase attendance's for the cup games, some of which have been embarrasing this year (enough threads on here about them to prove that point).

The club should have announced this at the start of the season really so people could have made the choice to sign up then. IMO they have got it right, just maybe a bit too late. However having done it once they have really got to stick with it, and make the announcement now.

Yes I am on the direct debit scheme but have 5700 points so would have got one anyway. I would rather reward those that have turned up to a half empty stadium all season, than those who you hear being smug saying " I won't bother until the later stages, I am going to get a final ticket anyway". I do understand some people can not afford it or make it, and I do feel for you, but the club have got to try something so improve the poor attendances.

The Goat is spot on.

The long and short of it is.

City want bigger cup attendences next season and more revenue, especially if we get in the CL.

And those season ticket holders that weren't in the cup scheme this season becuase they wrongly assumed they had enough loyalty points for a semi and/or final ticket, will either have to sign up or take the chance once again next season.

Like the Goat I've got over 5500 loyalty points, but I still decided to sign up for the cup scheme and attend the matches, even though I had the choice of not attending them.

They have moved the goalposts and now some Blues who should be there, won't be, and some that shouldn't, will be.

This should have been something sorted out AT THE END OF THE SEASON in preparation for 2011/12, so everyone knew the situation, what they have done here is just plain WRONG.

de niro hits the nail on the head again in one post, and sums everyones post up in 3 lines rather than 40 pages.

Because he agrees with you. I could point to Matty and Gstar as I agree with them.

Shall we call it quits, no one is going to change their mind.

What about me then SWP's back? I have been to every FA Cup game this season and every home europa league game, i think it is right that those who put in the time and effort in early rounds get a chance to go to the later rounds but why only give a small percentage that oppourtunity? It's a joke but i am not suprised, once again the club can go fuck themselves.

totally unfair on the posters with lots of points, points that have been gained over years not one season.

no matter to us as we are in the scheme and have the points but i must say its a shit trick.

surely a ruse to get everyone on the scheme next season.

I understand that, but i don't reckon there's too many of the 35-36k st holders who fall into this 2k points but on the cup scheme bracket. So anyone without points built up over the seasons will have no real issue getting a ticket i don't think.

If it gets us 40k+ attendances for cup games next season it's worked in another way... People like yourself are always fine though, those who follow City because they love to follow City and have done for years will be in the brackets to get to every game regardless...

-- Fri Mar 18, 2011 7:09 pm --

Again, what about the Citycard holder with 4k points that's been to every cup game this year... are City shithouses for putting ST holders before him?

Nail, head, hit.

Disgusts me.

ive been saying this for the last 6 pages.

whiffs of an enforced cup system to me. the only sad thing is how many people in the "im alright camp" dont care at this point. That will soon change,

just happy that people like De niro and freestyler point this out, dispite the fact they are not affected

Then I'd say you should have joined the scheme at the start. Surely there has to be a "reward" for giving assurances that we would buy every ticket regardless of shifts etc.

No system can be perfect can it?

As I say, no one is going to change anyone elses mind and the thread is now going round in circles.

It's been fun.

Just to add.

Mansour spent/lost over £100mill last year on City. He has a every right to claw that money back and to eventualy make a profit. He is not a charity.

United fans do not have a choice. They have to join the cup scheme.

City fans do have a choice. They can either join the cup scheme or not. If they don't they will still get a ticket, but will not have first jibs on the tickets or on the seats they prefer.

Under those the circumstances, I think Mansour has every right to do what he wants.

what's the difference between someone who's been in cup scheme and attended every game, and someone like me who's also been to every game, but not in the cup scheme?

I wouldn't dispute that had they made it clear at the start of the season, but they didn't, they have moved the goalposts and it is quite clearly wrong.
