Disappearing up your own ar**

The modern generation just can’t grow up and be an adult, they always seem to need something new and trendy, like a toddler being given a treat.

Sadly some of them are in charge now. At work they do things like running competitions for the most interesting social media post by an employee or giving ‘kudos’ points to colleagues.

Just. F. Off.

A black coffee or a pot of quality tea, either with an optional drop of milk, is what adults drink.
They have talent competitions at our place, which is a whole new level of cringe above employee of the month, they also expect you to promote the Co. on social media.
It’s not like they don’t know my talent, I design Graphic Tees for them, 1000s of them!
Thankfully I work from home & 6000 miles away from the office now.
I swear by a cheap Delonghi & grinding your own, or an Aeropress if you want decent coffee at work, & far cheaper.

All jokes and piss taking aside, there’s a reason for that. The sort of big things previous generations worked towards - home ownership, big investments - are unattainable for a lot of young people. That’s why there’s been a generational shift towards young people spending money on smaller things and treats, trinkets and trends.

If you don’t have a hope of buying big things, you might as well spend what money you have on smaller rewards.

Have you ever won?

I’ve just gone back to a cafetière and bean grinder. I can get as good a coffee out of that as I need. I may buy an Aeropress though.

Yeh but they didn't have the straw people to put up with did they so your point is mute.

Bad news when we have the jocks telling us to cheer up lads

There isn't excuse for being a straw sucking non coffee drinker at all, I suspect they use straws just so they don't get any splash on their very expensive phones.

I apologise if I have triggered some herberts who feel their raison d'être has been called into question but they probably need to go out more, perhaps grab a cup of black coffee :)

Ah, using a straw for coffee, people? Oh yes. That's awful. Why is this not outlawed? Why isn't it on the news more? If i paid my license i would be fucking raging. Thank you. I can now shift my angst from what I had thought was important stuff. What was I thinking?

If they are the topknot types, bring back hanging now. Or at least the Birch.

Nobody is triggered on this thread about coffee about straws or even about zombified mobile phone users, I hope the toddler syndrome continues at least it keeps them out of trouble.

My wife loves matcha, but she’s Taiwanese American so she grew up drinking it rather than a trendy instagram fad.

Can’t stand it myself, just a normal coffee for me, though we do enjoy the local coffee shops. Modern Farmhouse in Alderley Edge is nice.

Man after my own heart there Jimbo. I`ve not drank tea for more than 70 years and I hate the smell of it.I even got my missus of 50 years off the bloody thing and she now drinks coffee ... but thankfully with no fucking straw attached. ;)

Had 2 cups of coffee when I got up and have just had a big brew with builders tea. I don't know how others do it but if I am having some hot food like a fry up it's always a cup of tea but most if not all other times it's coffee all the way.

No straws like you of course, that's a given :)
