You can always find a club or sport more to your liking ... the nature of our squad/players won't be changing anytime soon. Nor will the people who run the club.

Shears I actually go the matches and support the players and the club unlike you.
I was supporting this club before you were born.
If the nature of the club and squad doesn't change then we are going nowhere.
Now get back to your SKY TV and 'lucky couch' and get ready for tomorrow's game you Wum.
Make sure you have your scarf draped over the TV and you are wearing your full home kit including shin pads
and football boots.

Some Pellegrini relevant stuff from behind the Telegraph pay wall:

“The most important thing was to change the environment of Carrington,’’ said Begiristain, speaking in Monaco after City were drawn against Bayern, CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen. “Now the atmosphere is very good. There’s a lot of confidence.’’

Begiristain chose his words carefully, deliberately avoiding criticising Mancini, who achieved a lot at the club, including winning the FA Cup and Premier League. Mancini remained popular with the fans until the end, and placed an advertisement in the Manchester Evening News thanking them for their support over “three unforgettable years’’. They reciprocated with a £7,000 advertisement in Gazzetta dello Sport.

Yet there were clearly some tensions in the dressing room. Mancini could be either cold or confrontational at times. Manuel Pellegrini is a more inclusive character. “This kind of manager gives a lot of confidence to the players and we are recovering the confidence of the players who were really down last season,’’ continued Begiristain. “That was really important.

“You can talk about his style of play, his experience in the Champions League and his background is really good. There’s more width and the full-backs play more forward.

"We are happy with the manager’s tactics. The manager has a lot of experience in the Champions League. We are now in the right situation to think that we will do a very good Champions League. We want the expectation. It means people think we have a very good squad and opponents think we are stronger than last season.’’

Pathetic to be honest. I think we must have the biggest bunch of mard arse players in the Premiership bar none.
And if we don't qualify from this CL group then serious questions need to be asked of all concerned.

Which lot? Players, management, owner?
Name one or all and I will find you 50,000 supporters that disagree with you

I also would have thought that Begiristain's conspicuous use of the word "important" would have endeared him to Mancini acolytes.

I did have to choke back a nostalgic tear or two...

I have a lot of faith in Pellegrini, I think that his knowledge of the game combined with his strong educational background make him perfect for management. Some footballers are born leaders and are able to both motivate their players because they know the game and also have a strong tactical mindset. Others have a love for the game and even though they may not have played it so well they understand tactics and management so excel. You then get some excellent players who know the game but are not so good or understanding when things don't happen how they want them to. Whilst they have a football education they dont understand much beyond the game.

I think Mancini, and similarly Di Canio clearly know how to play football, they know what they want their teams but their man management is "my way or the highway" and when players dont fit in to that mould or need more nurturing they are not so good at that aspect of the job because they have the mindset that every other player should be like they were.

Fergiescum was able to adapt that, he knew when to put his arm around someone and when to throw the book at them. He did isolate certain players but it never really impacted on his sides results. They were offloaded and the club continued to win games.

I think Pellegrini is from the same ilk, he is the perfect combination of intelligence, knowledge of the game and man management and will be able to nurture those players that need it but also retain discipline when required. He knows the game inside and out and also how to manage and his engineering background is testament to how methodical and detailed he will be when it comes to tactics and formation.

Mourinho has a "honeymoon period" at a club whereby his ego and confidence spreads to the players, he tells them they are great and he takes the media pressure off them and this works for a couple of years. But because of his approach in buying up everyone and anyone and his occasional mood swing or outburst when things dont go his way, he isolates people after a while and things go badly. It will be interesting to see this time at chelsea whether this happens, the pressure is off now that they have won everything in Europe. He failed at Real Madrid and walked away.

I think we have a great manager in Pellegrini and am excited to see what he does with City over the coming years.

Fair play, Bob.

I do think Begiristain saying "football is strange" later on in the interview was a bit OTT though.

You think it was a coded message to Mancini? Maybe something along the lines of "football is strange, you have so many trophies yet you don't have a job. Manuel has no trophies but your old job." Just a thought ... ;)
