He has done a great job, now let's hope we can bring in a couple of trophies at season's end to show for all the work put in.

We should win the carling Cup at least, but I really hope we claim the league, it would be a a big disappointment to miss out on that after the football we have played. Especially want to win it with the comments coming from some certain managers as of late about us being lucky.

Agreed. League would be enough for me. All else a bonus. [prays]

Not read the last few pages so I don't know if it's been mentioned but he's surely got to be manager of the month for January. 4 league wins out of 4 including tough aways to Swansea, Newcastle and Spurs.

Then again they'll probably have Moyes in with a shout again.

Cuuld be Mourinho too, he capped a brilliant month with a hard fought and well deserved draw against West Ham.

+1
I said a few weeks ago that I'd take only the prem right now. That said we should lift the league cup .

I can't see City stumbling in the cup final; you're not Arsenal.

If City can get the win against Chelsea at the Etihad in the FA Cup 5th round tie, they'd certainly be the favourites in the competition as either Arsenal or Liverpool would be eliminated as well as Chelsea. I could see Chelsea winning if they can force a replay at Stamford Bridge.

I would be very surprised if City don't win the Premier League.

I could see City beating Barça, but I couldn't see them advancing any further, especially if they would come up against teams like Bayern, Atlético, or (fit) Dortmund. A match against PSG would be a great affair — battle of the sugar daddies!

Dortmund won't be fit the whole season.

Their defense is a mess. Teams are already figuring out Klopp's tactics and Westfalenstadion isn't a fortress anymore.

But PSG, Bayern, and Real will be tough. Rags are weak, and Atletico are already showing wear and tear due to lack of rotations.

You are pushing your luck now, show some respect please

Sugar daddies you say, most if not all top league clubs have sugar daddies, it's just carlsberg picked ours ;)

There's no way to be so sure at the moment. If their key players are fit, they are as good as anyone.

Their system has been difficult to execute because of the squad turbulence, especially with their best midfielder missing. They'd hope to have their key players back in a month, I'd assume.

Out of interest, what do you think of your own defence if you think Dortmund's defence is a mess? If you were to compare defensive records in similar competition (league, major cup, europe) you'd see that Dortmund have conceded less goals, in spite of playing in a much tougher Champions League group, AND suffering major injuries to each member of their defence.

Dortmund - 28 matches, 29 goals conceded
Man City - 32 matches, 39 goals conceded

Even if you add in all competitions, City still have a worse defensive record, so it's clearly not due to me trying to manipulate statistics or something absurd like that.

League competition and European competition, especially high-pressure knock-out ties are two completely different beasts. Dortmund, having lost some of their "magic", are certainly favourites to go deep in the competition. They have a very easy tie against Zenit.

I suspect their goals against record would take a battering if they played lickle old City. It'd be great to get a couple of days in Dortmung again.

I'd say the team pretty much picks itself for MP on Monday, about the only potential decision he has to make is does he go for Dzeko or Jovetic. I'd expect him to go for Dzeko although if it was me I'd be tempted to go for Jovetic and play a more fluid formation with him and Merlin roaming about behind the Beast.

he might want to give the Beast a bit longer in the pasture

I'd go jovetic too, from what I've seen, although I also think he will go dzeko. I totally agree that jovetic dropping deep and linking up with silva is mouthwatering.

Decisions to be made on left back and left sided centre half too. Clichy and nasty for me, I think. But wouldn't have a problem with de mich.

I'd go Jovetic too as it allows Silva to play more central, which in turn puts less pressure on Yaya to be so box-to-box. Going to be a really interesting game and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we smash them for 5. Also looking forward to Mourinho playing 19th century tactics against us.

There are a couple of positions up for grabs though; Clichy or Kolarov and MDM or Nastasic. Think he'll go MDM and Kola but they could go either way without any complaints.

It makes me sad that we got him when he's 60.

If he was younger he could have been like Arsene Wenger for City, I think something like that is the 'holistic' approach. I hope Vieira can learn from him for when he inevitably takes over as manager.

he's looked like that since he was 21
